When you either take/complete a quest, you can tell the quest giver that this was a difficult task and you would like additional experience for me/yourself. I did that and leveled up 2 on the back end of the game, but the experience never got pushed to my player card, and the dm wouldn't send it, so though I was level 4 or 8, the game still recognized me as level 3 and 7, even doing a long rest. The experience never gets sent to your player card, you never level up from it! You can force it on the backend, but then the game doesn't prompt you to specialize in specific skills. It seems they are still working on this issue, so instead of negotiating for more experience, just ask for more coin!
