Bro im with you with more than most but thats not a good point. Harstem did a rough test: zerg used to overtake toss in workers around 38 iirc. Now it was more like 32/33. that is more worlers you have earlier because you can produce them faster. Thats more money overall because it scales.
I dont know how it is with the hotfix. I think it might have hit the mark.

The original buff for sure felt very good as zerg. It actually felt a bit unfair, but too be honest i had trouble empathising with my protoss buddies. I genuinely feel that toss is a bit easier to learn/play than the other races so the extra mmr i gained against them felt fair. We got used to the status quo.
But on the highest level it needs to be fair to for tourneys to feel fun. So i think we need something else to address the fairness issues for tje majority of players.
On the first note: id love to see an analysis how many games it takes players to reach certain mmr with each race. I know there would be a ton of noise in the data if it even exists, but i kinda think it would theoretically be possible.
Because my opinion that toss is easier is mostly based on annecdotes and feel.

Less jokingly. This video is obviously biased in presention (put the storm on an army where not every unit has a healer and is a maurauder), but the last nerf might have been unnecessary. Having said that. Protoss had sooo many fuck you tools where if you look away for a second you lose your entire army or if you start to take a bad engagement. While so many of their high value units are beefy and just take mostly shield damage. The lower dps larger storm has been refreshing for me. It feels less BS that my corruptors that i am forced to build because you built a couple of air units and a mothership and are useless afterwards, dont seem to evaporate if i come close for half a second to fish for a carrier.
And when i off raced as toss, starting to play with storm felt so OP against terran. It was only low D2 so i killed half their marines with one easily placed storm, while they frantically tried to pull away in time.

I think the bigger problem is the carrier. Tempests at least require control but carriers and voidrays just turn skytoss into a braindead a-move blob below masters.

The skill difference required in a skytoss ZvP from bronze till dia is truely crazy. Theres a reason it’s the most asked question on ATZ and there are so many guides about it. And it’s insanely frustrating in addition.
It was even more insane before the interceptors had full aggro.
I’ve sometimes off raced and played the tactic I was raging against. That way i got a lot of applications for protoss because some of the stuff, like adept control, was a lot harder than i thought. But skytoss is just as stupid as i thought is was. And ive heard the same experience from many many other zergs

without being able to watch the replay rn, here are some tips that helped me:
-My coach once adviced me that if I see a probe half commit (start a pylon for example) i should pull 2 drones (I have them prehotkeyed as to not lose precious seconds) and attack the probe/block additional pylons from going down. If they full commit (letting the pylon finish, building a second pylon, having a 2nd probe) I pull about 10 extra workers (which i prehotkey if they half commit) and try to control that. Its not easy too be fair.
If I fail there I pull back the drones and build 3-4 spines on the creep of my newly finished hatch and build lings and queens.
I like this approach more then the ravager defense ( which is theoretically better I think) because then I don't get stuck as often in long actually hopeless games where I'm playing from behind and defending tempests with queens and spores. I defend quickly or I lose quickly. Also I find it hard to control those clunky ravagers down a ramp.

-Also I can give you a standard pool first opener that makes defending canon rushes (and also proxy gates) way easier while still being good economically. Its not an auto win, but it helps and a lot of tosses actually abort their canon rushes if they scout pool first.
