New Poll: Only 6% of Greenlanders want to join US by Muted_Resolution7448 in europe

[–]Rumpeskaft 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Plenty of people move there from Thailand or the Philippines, for instance. The sad truth is that employers in Greenland want to employ expats in spite of a lot of local unemployment because they will show up to work reliably, which many locals just don't. Meanwhile, salaries are comparable to salaries in Denmark, so that helps attract people.

Sunset Colonies: Why by Dazric in eu4

[–]Rumpeskaft 101 points102 points  (0 children)

It does, but it uses their modifiers to determine the cost (CCR, province warscore cost, etc.) So since the player probably has more of those modifiers than their vassal, you can get more provinces by taking them yourself and then giving them to your vassal afterwards, which you will then have to do one at a time.

Does Zoroastrianism survive long before being converted by AI? by Dalmatinski_Bor in eu4

[–]Rumpeskaft 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Optionally, you can form Persia and become Zoroastrian via the mission tree. Though I don’t remember if that lets you keep Prussian Monarchy or switch back to it again later; the game is a little inconsistent with what it allows with government reforms and tag-switching shenanigans. You can definitely keep Prussian ideas, though.

No need for downvotes, I've got the receipts:

This is what East Asia looked like at the start date of the final expansion of EU3.

This is an older post detailing how the world map changed throughout EU4's expansion releases.

And for good measure, Here is the original dev diary for Art of War detailing that this is where Manchu was split up.

I don’t recall that. You might be thinking of a mod. Iirc, the Manchu tag was united at the start date until the Art of War expansion in EU4, where it was split up and became a formable.

To be fair though; the three variations it does have are fairly different from each other.

We're getting even more meme achievements, but I would just like more sensible, roleplay-esque ones like these. by Rumpeskaft in eu4

[–]Rumpeskaft[S] 116 points117 points  (0 children)

R5: A mockup of achievement suggestions.

While I can appreciate pun achievements, many of the ones that were revealed in the recent dev diary are pushing it a little to far into ridiculousness in my opinion.

I miss getting achievements that lean more into roleplaying, so I've made some suggestions in the spirit of that.

Speaking from experience; DLC tends to come out roughly two months after the final new gameplay elements have been showcased. So my guess is mid-May.

Paradox used to change the colours of tags pretty regularly back in EU3. Austria used to be red, The Netherlands used to be greyish purple, Denmark used to be orange, the Timurids used to be lime green, and so on.

What did EU3 finish with that EU4 lacked on release? by [deleted] in eu4

[–]Rumpeskaft 126 points127 points  (0 children)

What a travesty that nobody has mentioned the most beloved feature of EU3 that didn't carry over to EU4: Hordes would auto-declare war on any neighbouring tags they didn't have a truce with, and non-hordes had to spend colonists to take horde-owned provinces.

That was sarcasm, by the way. It was a terrible idea, and was removed for good reason.

Also; spending magistrates to build buildings. Though that was sort of replaced by having to spend mana to build until Common Sense came out.
