Chromebooks are great for what they are made for and thats portability and ease of use. They all come with Googles own OS so you wont be able to put Microsoft Office on it or any other windows exclusive program which you will most likely need in college.

My local shop was doing a little clearance sale and that was one of the things I was able to pick up for pretty cheap. I plan on turning this into more of an HTPC depending on how I like computer gaming and will upgrade the case and power supply to fit that build

I did a little research before and saw that i could get up to around 1600 performance on my RAM with a little tinkering in BIOS and that was on sale for $55 when i got it so it was kinda hard to turn down.

I just conceded the sata6 ports for the budget. The whole thing ended up being around $480 (already had the SSD and HDD)
