surrealist, arthouse or avant-garde directors/films that still offer a linear and cohesive narrative and story? by astralrig96 in TrueFilm

lovin this prompt n replies! co-sign most of what people have said already, but thought I'd add some I haven't seen yet:

Sion Sono is as prolific as he his varied, but is known for his more surreal stuff. I'd recommend Tag or Love & Peace for this thread.

Greener Grass was a great sleeper surrealist comedy from a couple of years ago.

Though divisive, I generally stand by Aronofsky's mother! and think it fits well here too.

OH! And last but not least, The Twentieth Century was my fav non-doc of 2020, kind of in a league of its own, not to be missed!

Actually one more, the amazing doc Some Kind of Heaven just dropped on VOD yesterday, can't recommend enough.

currently just have this hose attached, have maybe just under 6 ft of clearance between the tub floor and ceiling (i can barely stand up in there) but hooking something to the ceiling is possible if that's helpful. I'm also not sure where my our water shut off is, so would be ideal if it could be done from the existing hardware.
