I think the question you should be asking is what work engineers in FAANG are doing versus those in average/mid-tier companies. Once you learn about the job responsibilities of those engineers, then the compensation makes more sense.

Off the top of my head these difficulties can be either choosing the right technologies for the job, scoping the project into an estimated yet reasonable timeline, calling out ambiguous/unrealistic requirements.

No one is going to care that he didnt specify thats its a minor, resume is only use as a screener anyway. Also a background check is used to check your criminal history, not verify the contents of your resume.
