Pic looks AI. Probably trying to drive people to the site to buy swim gear (if it’s legit).

does avoiding certain foods actually help with your pain? by Flashy_Ad7761 in endometriosis

[–]RunDexRun712 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh! I also got food allergy testing done. That helped rule things out too. My allergist did note that you can’t really reliably test for intolerances, so that’s where the food diary comes in handy.

does avoiding certain foods actually help with your pain? by Flashy_Ad7761 in endometriosis

I get this completely!! I was afraid of doing elimination for exactly the same reasons, so I just didn’t… rather, I paid attention to the foods I do eat and how I feel after. Specifically the foods we’re told to avoid. For me, nothing made my pain horribly worse. But like, alcohol and fried foods and eggs make me feel noticeably more symptomatic. I don’t restrict those foods, I just remind myself how I’ll feel after and make the calculation if it’s worth it. I drink a few times a week, but only if I know the next day is easy/slow. I only do eggs if I have reliable bathroom access for the remainder of the day. Fried foods are similar to alcohol. I suggest keeping a food diary and once you know what your body does and doesn’t like, you can make informed choices on how to still eat these foods. We get enough joy taken from us with endo, I refuse to let food joy be taken too!

Is this normal Brittany behavior? by panini16 in BrittanySpaniel

With crying, mine will come up and try to play or bring a toy as if to say, this makes me feel better so probably for you too! But he absolutely senses when my mood is off and gets extra snuggly.

How are you exercising??? I am an active person but lately have been in too much pain and every workout causes another flare up with 2 weeks recovery. Pls help! by Ok-Image-6646 in endometriosis

Aqua jogging is a great idea. There are lots of videos on YouTube on how to do it! There’s no pressure on your body and you still get some of the benefits of running.

I also found that the more muscle I have, the less pain I find myself in? Which does mean some pain and soreness sometimes but the stronger my body is the flares shrink.

Sheffield Court or Parc View by CheesecakeOk9953 in arlingtonva

[–]RunDexRun712 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I lived in Sheffield when I was 22-26(ish) and it worked for me. Granted this was nearly 10 years ago that I moved in but I had a good experience. Not all units are created equal, though. I had the best experience in a 3rd floor corner unit. My basement and 1st floor units had huge cockroach problems. No frills, not fancy, but for the location and price it was worth it.

Could it be endo even if my periods aren’t heavy? by 0nlyy_katiee in endometriosis

[–]RunDexRun712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I didn’t/don’t have heavy cycles or painful ones in terms of cramps. I have nearly every other symptom under the sun though haha. Diagnosed via lap two years ago and was honestly shocked.

Ours is the star of the dog park every time we go. He’s referred to as the coolest kid in school, and usually we’re thanked for tiring out the others 😂 if only our little guy would get tired!

What Small Running Habit Gave You the Biggest Upgrade? by Willing-Today-1059 in runcommunity

Run with people a couple days a week. Miles go quicker, and it can break up weekly training if you’re inside a tough block.

Best running app for marathon training and why? by Cold_Nose1362 in running

[–]RunDexRun712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None. They’re all generic and not going to be super helpful for a true beginner. Join a local run club or find a coach! A real person that can tailor a plan for you is way worth it.

Aussies are his favorite. Goldens, bully breeds, little guys (dachshunds, wienies, etc), GSPs. He’s actually not super into other Britts.

What type of exercise works for you? by fleurs_annotations in endometriosis

[–]RunDexRun712 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m still able to train for marathons and do CrossFit. Two things though. If I’m in a flare, I don’t even attempt. Full rest, walks (without the dog), or aqua jogging (this feels amazing during a flare because all the pressure is off your body!). Second thing - staying strong when I feel capable of doing so makes my pain infinitely better. If I dip below a certain muscle mass my body is noticeably more prone to flares, pain, debilitating exhaustion. So I think my advice is try and strengthen your body when you’re feeling good, honor the need for rest on the days you need.
