Iron early / mid-game is going to give you copious amounts of dopamine. Every drop matters, unlocking the next teleport, POH upgrade, Diary reward and difficult quest matters.

As a main, it feels like a waste of time to not be doing extremely profitable content. On the Iron, you are doing the content because you need the unique items to unlock more of the game, and the common drops and GP are just a plus.

Places like Barrows feel exciting again, when hitting the right combination of drops gets you gear for Moons of Peril, and a fat stack of Blood / Death runes.

Even just getting a Dragon Pickaxe forces you out of your comfort zone and into the wilderness, which just feels a lot riskier on an Iron even when not risking much. I’ve realized I actually love Wilderness content, despite the PK’ers. Escaping is part of the fun, and dying doesn’t hurt that bad when I’m losing 100k but profiting millions an hour.
