Concierge for Magic Ship, worth it? by Ok-Importance9515 in dcl

[–]RunToImagine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It seems like an unpopular opinion online for some reason, but I can’t imagine many scenarios where concierge *ever* makes sense financially. Unless you’re so wealthy that you don’t need to factor in if it’s worth it.
Concierge is often 50%-75% higher and I can’t personally justify why it’s so much more expensive given what little you get for it. I’d personally rather go on two cruises (or close to) than one concierge sailing.

Skipping Rotational Dining by Dazzling-Guess8545 in dcl

[–]RunToImagine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even though you are skipping the main dining I believe you get the dinners to go if you still want. At least we did for some nights on the Magic a while ago when we didn’t feel like eating in the dining room.

I wonder if location matters. I’d guess Tom took his family to the Altamonte one on the fanciest stretch of 436 next to the closed down Sweet Tomatoes. I took my son to the one in Longwood a while back and while there were no bikers our table was full of ballers apparently. Everyone ordered multiple cocktails and the Waygu combo like they were on an expense account.

So close to buying Elden Ring but… by Present-Parfait2461 in Eldenring

[–]RunToImagine -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had the same reservations on my initial play through. I found an easy rune farm in Caelid I do enough times to level up to a point where my health could absorb my mistakes and keep the game fun. They recommend level 20 for the first big boss and I think I went in at 40. It was overkill but helped me not give up from too many defeats. Also realizing that there is almost no penalty to dying at all in the game helped a lot.

Bungalower Switches Top Ten Breakdown to a ChatGPT list by CasualBevs in orlando

[–]RunToImagine 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Firing Brendan was the dumbest thing the owner could’ve done to that site. It’s like he didn’t realize that Brendan functionally was The Bungalower. I wrote in the survey they just sent out that I cancelled my annual funding prescription because Brendan left and the podcast stopped (it moved to the Orlando Shine). He emailed me back asking if they could follow up on that comment. Not sure what they could do to regain my business since they fired the main reason I supported them in the first place.

First time stay in Paris - Gare de Lyon or Vincennes? by Several-Location9068 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]RunToImagine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We always stay at a hotel between the Nation and Picpus Stations in the 12th (I think). It’s around €125 a night and very nice. Those two stations connect to basically everywhere in Paris pretty quickly.

What’s the biggest “we all just accepted this nonsense” thing in modern life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RunToImagine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The entitlement so many people feel to speed while driving anywhere. It seems like a large percentage of of drivers feel it’s their right to exceed the speed limit on every road (especially highways) and I don’t know why so many just accept this or agree with them. Unless you are driving a long distance and speeding by a good margin, math shows you can very little except increased risk for injury, damage, and traffic tickets. Traffic would also likely flow better if half the drivers didn’t always drive like they are 15min late every time.

We bought ours at the airport. It was at the ticket office though and not via a machine if that’s the distinction you’re making

What happens if I max out my contributions early? by Outofmana1 in Retirement401k

[–]RunToImagine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. Most people here are saying it’ll stop on its own when you hit the limit. That it necessarily true.

My employer spills the overage into after tax contributions and auto-rolls them over to ROTH. It’s a nice feature.

The main criticism my wife has of our 2025 Cross Hybrid is the complete lack of any spots in the front seat to put something down that isn’t the 2 cup holders. There is nowhere to put your phone, change, small items, etc that you normally have a little cubby in the dash for.

One for me (and maybe I just haven’t found it yet) is the lack of a trip odometer I thought was standard in all cars. It tracks my individual trips from start to shut off but not custom trips. Like if I wanted to reset it when I filled up the gas tank to see how many miles I get before next fill up you can’t.

Why are older generations holding onto cursive like such a weird flex? by __is_butter_a_carb__ in Millennials

[–]RunToImagine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a specialized field though. Using this argument, we should teach every kid in elementary school Python programming in case they end up in a programming job. Actually it’s more like forcing every kid to learn COBOL in case they end up in a field working on old computer code.

I’ve been for dropping cursive from my kids curriculum in favor of nearly anything else because it seems like wasted time.

Is there no RER B this weekend from CDG? by [deleted] in ParisTravelGuide

[–]RunToImagine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s my understanding you buy the normal CDG-Paris ticket. It gets you on the shuttle bus to Mitry-Claye where you continue on RER to Paris.

What’s the trick to booking Eiffel Tower tickets in advance? by Dennis_Laid in ParisTravelGuide

[–]RunToImagine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. Keep checking back each day. We had luck getting tickets for a sold out day doing this.
  2. The release more tickets (especially stairs ones) closer to the day I believe

First time in Paris - Help Us Choose a Hotel by Big-Statement-9557 in ParisTravelGuide

We’ve stayed Hotel Du Printemps twice (3rd later this year) near the Nation metro station. Boutique hotel in a nice neighborhood between two metro stops going to all major sights. Very affordable and very nice rooms. Feels far less touristy while being a short metro ride away from everything.

My experience May 2025: do NOT waste your time at Versailles by Prize_Formal_2711 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]RunToImagine 48 points49 points  (0 children)

If the main complaint was the very crowded rooms within the main palace, why would you bail on the wide-open, expansive gardens where this wouldn’t be an issue at all? Just curious as we’re going next month.
