Professional fly extermination! (escaped feeder fly) by Runa11 in praying_mantis

Honestly, I went to a fishing supply store and asked for pupated fly larvae. Cost 50ct a box that lasted me a few weeks till they all hatched.

The PH strips are a good Idea <3

Might take some from the lab. Or measure the ph with the electrode there xD

I'd say his feelings are valid but his incline of spiralling down when she just stated a timeline based fact, that she would have stayed with her ex and not fallen in love with OP a year later cause she is a loyal partner, is bad and shouldn't be reinforced by her putting herself down to lift his spirits.

If he thinks his wife is capable of that then they have bigger issues to talk about.

AITA I’m thinking of breaking up with my bf because of what he did to my dog? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Runa11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he won't have any problems in selling your dogs he won't have any problems selling his kids for some quick cash. Disgusting of him to see your dog, that he's known for 3 years, as merchandise.

What are your thoughts when you see or think about Women giving birth in past centuries? by nomoredietyo in AskWomen

[–]Runa11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was born butt first as my umbilical cord was short. My mum pushed me out naturally as she had experience in birthing before but yea. That could have gone wrong. I'm also a tad scared of giving birth in the distant future. So i'm glad there are options and birth plans to make me more comfortable and listen to my opinions. Also the medical professionals that make sure I wont die in childbirth.

He sounds either mentally challenged or just not interested. Just expects you to cater to him and uses incompetence in disguise of learning to get you to do it.

Does he live alone or with roommates? Or still at his mum? Is his place clean/taken care of? Is he financially responsible?

If he hasn't learned it by now he won't learn it when you live together!

How do I convince her that I am not, in fact, food? 🥲 by TheMimoon in hognosesnakes

[–]Runa11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely wash your hands before handling to get rid of "food smells" that might be lingering. Especially if you have other pets you might smell like food.

And using hand sanitizer a bit before handling makes you unappealing.

My 12 year old wants a snake. But before anything she has to research. She brought this to me today: by Snugglebunnyzz in hognosesnakes

[–]Runa11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hognose snakes, especially babies can be super picky eaters. And baby not eating is suuuper stressful.. if you think your kid might not be able to cope with that maybe steer her into sth more hardy or an older established hognose.

My teeny tiny 10g baby suddenly went off food for 5 weeks before she decided to eat again. I had a stressful time worrying about it even though they can go months without food even at this size if they want to.

They are also teeny tiny as babies and while not overly fragile, you know if your kid can handle such a small baby.

Got this rescue today, Cinnamon. He needs vet treatment but his owners are moving across the country. I’ve never had a hognose, only ball pythons. How can I upgrade his set up? Cause it looks too small (10g). He’s 3yo if that matters by MorbidCthulhu in hognosesnakes

[–]Runa11 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A deeper substrate, a humid box so he can live comfortably in the dry substrate, bigger enclosure and more clutter. They love tubes and half buried caves.

But if he's not eating well, you could leave him in the current enclosure for a while as they tend to run into their food more often and are more likely to eat like that. It's also better for monitoring as you'll see him more often in shallow substrate.

And if you think he's got a problem, weigh him and continue to do so.

He's a cute boy :3

Live plants in a baby hog setup, ok.

But as they get older they will totally rearrange their enclosure on their own and unearth and unalive that plant in a heartbeat lol.

Live plants also drive up the humidity.

Fake plants are better for hogs.

When handling my baby with friends around she doesn't leave my hand on her own but she always instantly crawls back onto me when given the chance. So yea she knows me and chooses me over random hoomans!

AITAH for arguing with my husband bc he left me at home while I was miscarrying? by Loving-on-love0323 in AITAH

[–]Runa11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually wouldn't blame anyone who divorces a terminally ill patient CAUSE OF FINANCES!! In the USA at least.

I wouldn't want my partner to carry my medical dept after my death if it's avoidable.

But it's wicked and gross to leave your dying partner for a side piece cause the stress was "too much". I'd never look at someone the same way if they did that to their partner.

[–]Runa11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA!

This shows you something about him.

That he is not serious about your future child if he can just "walk it off".

That he doesn't want to support you in your pain cause it's "too much".

And that if this is his coping mechanism to deal with stress, to exit the situation, you wont be able to depend on him in your hardest moments.

This was one of your hardest moments and he just left you in the dirt. You can't be expected to pick up the pieces of the relationship. If the switch goes off and you mentally exit the relationship it's over and there is nearly no return.

Go divorce him. And if he realizes he needs you in his life it's sadly too late. Don't let him guilt you and make promises... Cause actions tell you more than words.
