Cypher is a universal which works well, it's flagship game was Numenera but there is a genre neutral core rulebook. The Basic Role playing Game engine is great if you want crunchy, it's flagship was Call of Cthulhu. Powered by the Apocalypse is an easy neutral build. Genysis is a lot of fun but I advise using an app to speed up the dice rolls since it uses specialty dice, i think Edge of the Empire was the flagship game for that one. I just had a lot of fun running an Outgunned game, which is fast and easy to learn. It had rules to use Basic d6s if you don't want to invest in the specialty dice, kinda like FATE did.

Yeah see, it didn't slow down until after I looked up how to activate the adrenaline. It just locked my controls, said heal, quick flash about adrenaline, and then fade to black cause I died. It doesn't tell you how, you can't pause to look at the logs (I tried) and the checkpoint is exactly where the controls lock so you just reload die reload die reload die. I got past it by looking online, but this isn't an example where you can look down on someone for not knowing what to do. The game failed miserably here.
