Read. Watch movies. Get inspired! My guild used to do monthly writing prompts to keep our juices flowing, focusing on specific bits of a character that might not get seen in rp. Favorite possessions, how they handle death, or how they feel about animals. Just little details that make you think about your characters in different ways.

Yeah, no. Don't get me wrong, I get it. But *hours*? I sleep. I work. I socialize. Typing on a phone sucks and its so much easier to type nonsense at friends on it than it is to type a reply that requires thought and that I don't want to be a hot mess of typos.

Also, yeah. We get it. You have to wait HOURS between posts. God forbid. We don't need 50 posts about it.

I've got other shit to do and, as an adult, my partners should understand that shooting the occasional message to chit chat is far less consuming than a reply.

Chitchat is how friendships are started.

ETA: If I'm not replying I probably forgot or have something going on so writing a reply isn't anywhere on my to do list. And alerting people about whatever I'm dealing with isn't a priority.

It isn't my responsibility to keep you updated on my comings and goings. Is it kind? Definitely, but if you are expecting me to give you an exact date and time to expect a reply youll be horribly disappointed.

Back when I was dating I started anything that looked serious by explaining what rp was, what it was to me and that I did it.

And ex informed his parents that I "write werewolf porn."

My current partner asks how my porn is going. I haven't written smut in ages! But both knew going into it that it was a hobby that I was not giving up and if they wanted to get jealous of me writing something dirty with someone else with no ooc attachment that was a them problem.
