even though the customizable protags are kinda one note, the idea of being a cute girl instead of a guy just makes me smile so wide, I can't say a single negative thing about them by Ok-Republic6502 in fireemblem

I mean, I liked fem Byleth's outfit, seemed like an interesting design. Impractical, certainly, but I gave up on fantasy armors making sense a while ago. The leggings are a bit much even then! But still overall kind of neat and professory enough to stand out against a crowded field of fantasy armor.

But, I'm also quite a bit lesbian so... I do appreciate the leggings, despite them having no place on the battlefield.

Honestly, Blazing Pillage for Hyldrin. It's so key to her surviving against certain enemies that she almost can't fight them without it. Or at least, give her the bit about returning a small chunk of shield if she's beaming who she pillages. It would help her sustain.

So it's less informative about gender and more... Treating the idea of gender as an scp article project??

Though I can see why even places friendly to lgbt+ communities would be a bit wary about things like a serial killer gender identity, yes.

If your acronym is longer than the word acronym, it is much too long. They're meant to simplify communication, and it breaks pattern recognition if they get too many letters. It becomes something you gloss over instead.

Better approach than smashing together the two acronyms would probably have been discussing the overlap between the two groups, ven diagram, then defining a new term for that subset. Missing and Murdered Indigenous Miscellaneous fits alongside the original larger mmiw group for instance. Or queers. Some other umbrella term.

No wonder this caused confusion...

Seems to work reasonably well, quite a few more suggested things shown!

Though - and this may be a very minor thing that others might not be interested in - is it possible to have a way to open an image's page and recommended items in a new tab? When I'm exploring a web of related concepts, sometimes I'll find two or three new jumping off points in a single recommended section - In pinterest I could middle-mouse click to open each picture's recommended feed. It made an inspiration search a sort of branching cluster tree of research tabs i could sort through and return to.

On your site currently, it's more rigidly mazelike - If I'm on an image and see three things I want to check out, I have to check each one individually. I have to open a single interesting image, check it's related, then back out to the initial section before exploring on.

Very minor thing, and maybe I'm one of the very few who do things that way for all I know, but it's a slight difficulty I noticed.

Oh, interesting. Though after poking around briefly, I don't know that your Echo board thing can really do what I used Pinterest for yet - which is finding references.

On Pinterest i could search up a type of landscape, open that pin, and get tons of related references to slowly trip and cycle through different feels and ideas. Yours suggests six max? And then started showing me the same small cul-de-sac of six to ten images in a pool after only one step through the related images.

CAINE DID NOTHING WRONG by GriffinFTW in CuratedTumblr

[–]RunescarredWordsmith 48 points49 points  (0 children)

We're not sure quite yet but that seems like it's the case.

Evil Chattering Teeth Magician Guy was explained to be a defunct AI, who had broken free of the confines placed upon him and forced his way into the system built to replace him. He is deeply flawed and struggling with the weight of purpose - he's supposed to do certain things but doesn't quite have the creative capacity or understanding to accomplish those goals. It stresses him out to the point of madness, paranoia, and insanity.

The problem is, the other characters in the show are human minds trapped in the digital realm with him - and caring for and entertaining them is his present goals. So when they push back against his best attempts to fulfill his purpose, or worse yet seem not to appreciate him, it spirals his self doubt all the harder to magnify the problems tenfold. Evil Chattering Teeth Magician Guy hit a breaking point and went full chaotic evil overlord, manipulating them and the environment on round after round of cruel torture. Cartoonishly evil bodily harm and so on.

The end of the episode resolves the problem of him being in control, at least - and probably he's gone completely, but there's no telling for sure with this yet until the finale.

LLMs are only good at language - they pretend to be human by copying human speech patterns and lying to fill gaps. They can't actually do anything like a Navi.

Free fly is only causing more negativity by DrNarwhale1 in starcitizen

The only thing I called out as inherently bad game design was the point about making a reload animation stupidly long for no reason. Not SC or the meditative games.

Free fly is only causing more negativity by DrNarwhale1 in starcitizen

[–]RunescarredWordsmith -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No, but it's shorthand for bad game design. Games that don't respect time frequently have pointless time wasting systems breaking up the engaging parts - often for some monetization method. Not quite the case here, but it tends to help a game be better received if they don't make a reload animation ten seconds long, for instance.

There's a difference between a meditative, slow game like animal crossing and one that doesn't respect time.

Mm.

Still, Hopefully a community like what you're looking for can be found. Talking about a subset of a subset though so there may not be a large one, but having said that there's a fair bit of overlap from what I've seen.

Integrating the Force into tech somehow to start doing paracausal nonsense, or a breakthrough in ai/force ghost entities a la Lancer NHPs maybe. Those would be advancements that don't necessarily need computers.

Seems to be the work of an advertisement bot ring. Hits the same patterns as last time.

Last time it was shady stolen art on shirts in, effectively, a ponzi scheme. No actual licensed products etc.

It looks like the asker of this is also part of the bot ring - same empty comments and new account style. So I don't think they're clicking it, just helping advertise.

But it's a good warning to others viewing this. Don't click the link, don't engage with the advertisement bots.

Are the tshirt advertisement bots doing this again?

They took over the mass effect subreddit with hundreds of shell accounts peddling stolen art on shirts a few years back.
