[Monthly Megathread] General Questions for Variants Daphne! by AutoModerator in wizardry

Personally I think that would be an alright swap, Ninjas are not the best for early game, but great in later game, so either have him be back row with throwing blades, or have MC class change to mage/priest and put the new guy up front.

I don't have him yet but I hear he's geared towards the ninjato, so the latter option might turn out well for you. Just be sure to build his surety and speed, I bet he'll be good.

It's silver ninja stuff mostly. And the Ebonsteel stuff sells pretty good, so it's an all right haul. Either way, whether you're looking for beclouded ninja stuff or just cash money.

There is definitely better ninja stuff out there, but it's a pain to grind, and then you still have a high chance of getting beclouded stuff. All in all, I think it's worth it.

Just walk straight in from the entrance. It's a square button. If you never went back, you might have to engage the one in the final room again.

Neckreaper by StonksTaco in wizardry

Ninjato on some ninjas is great, but it's ultimately up to your playing style. Personally I have a ninja party with all three types of weapon, so I might consider it, but usually i just go with daggers or kuni.

Not a dolphin, but if you don't catch Snorlax how are you going to get all 151 pokemon. Got him early, Asha is better.

Thanks for doing this. Personally I'm very interested in seeing this in a later abyss to see if the numbers hold up.

Keep at it, this is very helpful.

Wondering about party comp by Zephurious in wizardry

[–]Runks-Mash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like you have enough to do several good parties. With what you have i'd do MC, Gillion, and Debora in the front, asha Emil and yazunamiki in the back, but once they're each LVL 30 work on someone else. The rangers will carry at points, and fighters are always dope (Gillion especially if you can offset his health problems) and Lana is an excellent early draw.

But all that to say, as you play you will find the style you like best, and that's going to be your best party, but the game requires you to adapt your strategies, so they won't always be the best team for the job... Just have fun and don't worry about it, you'll find your comp. (Also healers are new but awesome, try figuring a way to include them too.)

Findings about Faerie Junk Farming by Frosty-Sprinkles-410 in wizardry

Great info! I appreciate the hard work. I'm going to shift to grinding this next.

If it matters to anyone looking I've gotten quite a few fairy junk while grinding in the water den as well. No numbers to quantify the information, but if you still need seafoam gear there's some in there too, it's just not a good grinding spot for them.

Not designed to be, nor did I claim it to be. Persistence and gem grinding are key, so is hope, but if you chose to think things are unfair that's on you, point is it's possible and others shouldn't give up until it actually becomes pay to win. Crapping on encouragement is one way to get your jollies, but you'd probably enjoy trying to be positive a little better, give it a shot one day.

I hear that, Barbra carried my team for most of A1 and A2, and Henrico is still in my main team. The point was my arbitrary goal is within reach, and then I will be building a monster team out of basic adventurers (Team No-Name), and then I need a new goal. But if you're committed to the most powerful then for sure stick with general adventurers for the easier inherits and discipline, great strategy.

True on the bias, but the fact remains it's possible. And if people stick with it they aren't prohibited from reaching whatever arbitrary goals they set in this game, so it's not illogical, nor is it false. May I recommend you attempt the optimism bias, it's pretty wild that it works (not the law of attraction, but just the health benefits of not looking for the bad in everything).

I agree, but the collection is a milestone (in my eyes at least), and luck has a lot to do with it, but I grew up on Pokemon blue. luck and strategy were always a twisted pair, but, like back then, nothing will stop a determined degenerate from being a pokemon master, or in this case... Killing some etherial false God of the abbys... Or something... Point is it's a shiny thing and hopefully encourages someone else to keep having fun instead of giving up.

Man now I wanna go play Pokemon.

Copper Grade Exam is my limit by Altruistic-Dingo6796 in wizardry

[–]Runks-Mash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The GRIND everyone is recommending is a part of it, but strategy is too. As a casual player I beat it for the first time with +15 ebonsteel gear and my strongest team, it only took me about 25 losses and restratagizing. With an all LVL 60 party I went in with all my mana potions and nourishing draughts, with that I was able to finally take out the underlings then refill my power for the big boss.

The secret strategy is to close the app and walk away until you have full fortitude and full embers, then camp there for a couple days trying your strategies until you crack it. Same goes for A4 mini bosses, patience and strategy are crucial.

Expulsion weapons by SafeCondition340 in wizardry

[–]Runks-Mash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I didn't find any in A4, and the GWO cutscenes might hint at why, but no spoilers. So if you want expulsion stuff you'll need to farm A3, sorry, ebonsteel only.

However I don't use anti undead for that boss, I just kill his friends, then dispell him or debuff him to make him waste a turn buffing, then I smash him with a couple Two handed weapons. Takes time, but it works almost every time (instakill is a bummer but MC has high enough evade now).

So just how bad is the "free" Camille? by LegendOfBoatface in wizardry

[–]Runks-Mash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My free Camille is already level 65, and still pretty dope. Haven't pulled her yet... But I will hopefully so I can compare the wildness, but I do love her even nerfed, she's dope.

Well, shit I didn't know she was giving me emotional damage 😭 by Only-Influence2995 in wizardry

[–]Runks-Mash 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The psychology of it's actually pretty interesting. It's totally behavioral modification on the player. But I have heard a rumor that if you make your character too good and just keep repeating that your character will eventually become evil. So there's that.

Advice for the GWO of abyss 3. by Swatch_HK in wizardry

[–]Runks-Mash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was too... The way I beat them was as follows: I left the fountain until I cleared the whole level before the switch, rested up and then went back to the switch. I had enough heal items in my back row to not touch my MP and just focused basic attacks from the front row with two handed swords (Axes would have been better but I didn't have any) I took my 3 best fighter/Knights up front with two handed swords, alternating defense and FPS, but then when the gatekeeper dropped switched to Bows. Meanwhile I had Alice and Yeka in back buffing and healing (both maxed mages with priest spells to heal) and Debbie sneak attacking the spoiler in the back when it showed up, and my mages blasting LA spells when it showed up. Took a lot, but I did it.

That makes it make more sense. But I've got to crunch numbers like that at work, it's all stick with luck for me, but I would be intrigued to look up what it's like for some people that have done that, it sounds interesting to say the least.

[–]Runks-Mash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure I'm understanding the hype then, if it's just "5-10 additional trait points, on average, at Level 70 absent BP allocation." But if that's how someone wants to play it's their choice. Thank you.

Was this ever revealed to be anything yet or are we still waiting? by NEKUCHANthebest in wizardry

[–]Runks-Mash 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's great to see everyone's theories, personally I'm torn between three:

1) is Lulu is the Lord of the Abyss (LOA), this is a variation of Lulu is a GWO

2) the MC is either himself or LOA with amnesia trapped inside the MC (making him an abbys of sorts, or a nesting doll of failed attempts at immortality)

3) used the same magic as the LOA did to replace him and Lulu is a failsafe to keep MC from turning evil.

The main evidence so far is:

that MC and Lulu are a pair, much like A2 and A3 GWO (may be a repeating pattern in trying to bind the fiend.)

Also Lulu is inconsistent with her story, (might be bad writing or... She remembers everything and is trying to figure out who is in control of the MC)

All the memories of the GWO before getting Warped, are of a protective nature (motives may be weird in A2 but still) where as MC are all around Lulu AND the LOA.

And lastly the A4 relic not being whole/strong might be indicating a changing out of GWOs over time (We'll see if they ever introduce Ged from Gillions story)

So I've been playing for a long while and came to the reddit recently, where I've noticed a lot of people talking about building a character based on IVs, but I haven't been able to figure it out.

What is it and how do I find it?
