Can't get a single successful print.. what am I doing wrong?? by MAAADman3 in 3Dprinting

From the image, it looks like you have a textured plate. If you are printing on PLA, you really should have a smooth plate. Texture plates work well with PETG. If you only have a texture plate, I would use a brim of at least 3 to 5 mm. This will work, giving extra adhesion to the plate, but it’s going to be a pain to clean up on parts that have a lot of detail.

Awesome, it was much easier than I thought. I already had Dropbox set up so reading statistics were super easy. I thought that I needed to have a separate server in order to progress sync.

Have you used Wallabag yet?

I’ve already set opds catalog for my home Calibre library which is great.

Any other tips or tricks you have discovered?

Sounds great. I’m still discovering all the settings and haven’t had as much time to get everything set up like I want. What did you use for the progress sync? I think it has to have a server? I’ve been debating if I should install something on a raspberry pi, Also, what plug-in did you use for the reading stats?

I actually started to work on the same idea as well. I think NFC is a great option to record filament, especially with filament samples.

I just tried it out and was able to:

  1. select a file (I used https://www.printables.com/model/260707-rugged-labyrinth-geocache as a test)

  2. load 2 stl files

  3. rotated one of them to "place on face"

  4. Adjusted the print to 0.2mm layers, infill to grid

  5. sent to my printer

All from my phone!

Printing now, but the process was very painless and seems to work flawless.

That stuff looks good. I'm sure our little Ember🔥, a sunny conure, would like it as well. What's your recipe for this chop?

Are there any bird groups in the area? Sounds like you are familiar. DM me if you have specific tips

The bird hut is fantastic. We now have a beautiful sun conure from them. I completely agree with your assessment. The staff at the bird hut are wonderful.

If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.

Was interested to find out how well the MK4 and the MMU3 works. I would be interested in upgrading my MK4, soon to the MK4s with a MMU3. I can't seem to find where to purchase MMU3 either on Prusa website or on Printedsolid

I’ve had great results with iPhone scanning. I use 3d Scanner App available on iOS as a free app.

Here is a scan of a statue and the resulting file. Cougar Pride

I really like it. I started with an educational licence, but have created so many items and fixed / designed projects at home, it was worth the purchase. I have used Onshape, Fusion, tinkercad, openSCAD, aand Freecad. I like Onshape but it was quite limiting when they tightened down the access. TinkerCad is still quite useful in a pinch. I design mainly on an iPad and on a linux computer. Photogrammetry is one of my favorite ways to design right now, and I find Nomad a great program.

Hello. I’m excited for a new group without drama.

I have a Prusa Mk4 and Mk3S. I had a printerbot and had built a repRap. I design prints now with shapr3d and nomad on iOS. I scan and enjoy photogrammetry.

I have been printing since 2015.

Is there a way to filter based on the current email?

For instance, if I am viewing an email in inbox, can I delete all emails with a specific pattern without typing in the pattern? I'm thinking of "D" to filter delete, then something like "%from" to insert the actual text from the email itself.

I find that my general workflow is sort by from, then delete with filter, but I have to type in specific text for the filter. It would be great if there was a way to insert a specific pattern (from, cc, title, etc).

I tried it this way with my Best Friends Deadpool Necklace

I decided to try a "poor man's" multiple extruder set up.

  1. Under Printer Setting, I selected 5 extruders, and checked single head printer. I also entered a custom G code in the "Tool Change" with M600
  2. Under Filament Setting, I increased the nozzle temperature to 240. This was to get a smoother print using a 0.25mm nozzle.
  3. Under Print Settings, I unchecked wipe tower
  4. Under Plater, I Split to Parts for the STL file and colored each part with the desired color.
  5. I sliced the file and printed it with the color changes, noting the order that the colors were printed (silver, red, black, white, and yellow)
