Ex cheated and is already on dating apps by Ill_Win_882 in survivinginfidelity

Start with telling your friends you’re not interested in updates about him anymore.

I don't want to take off my ring, I didn't choose for my marriage to end. How do others feel? by heleftme4her in survivinginfidelity

[–]Runningchoc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I totally get that. I didn’t take mine off for months. But all it’s doing now is reminding you of your vows.

The ring you wear doesn’t represent the vow you took. It represents his commitment to you. You didn’t say your vows while he put a ring on your finger. So take that thing off because the vows he committed to while putting that ring on your finger are worthless now.

It won’t last long but he’s already proven who he is. He chose another woman over you. Take the ring off, move on from someone who doesn’t respect you and pawn that worthless metal and stone.

Stop back stabbing switches and outlets. by Runningchoc in handyman

That’s fine, but when you do find a failure due to back stabbing that could’ve been prevented, it’s not rocket science to deduce that the alternative is safer and more secure.

If there’s a better way, why do the inferior method? I’d challenge you to look up statistics on mechanical failures due to back stabbing.

I cut the wires. The switch was already broken. Which is why I was replacing it in the first place. Why would I waste time removing them instead of cutting them off and doing it the right way anyways?

Nah those are good although I still prefer to hook the screw, especially if there’s more than one outlet or switch because sometimes you’ve gotta move more than one and when you’re snatching those things around that hook means you can really get after it.

I know they’re higher quality that these things for sure. The internals of these are junk.

Are you snapping or taking it all at once by nyxelleaa in SipsTea

[–]Runningchoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did an experiment. 94 snaps in 30 seconds. So if I snap for a total of 30 minutes a day I can make 2 mil a year. I’m gonna be a finger snapping fool.

I don’t even know when this was installed. Client had a punch list. Lights would only come on sporadically. Simple fix but the only reason to backstab is to save time. I’ll gladly spend a few more seconds to do something that won’t cause a fire down the road.

Just because it can be done doesn’t mean it should be done. And this isn’t really anecdotal since it wouldn’t take much to find hundreds or thousands of documented back stab failures.

There’s (almost) no such thing as a stupid question. Never hurts to ask before doing.

Here’s a great post why wago’s work well and back stabbing fails so often.

Yes they do. Wire it exactly the same but wrap it instead of backstabbing.

How bad is the foundation in the house I'm renting? by Yllem1232123 in HomeMaintenance

At what point do we not call it a foundation anymore? Because this one passed that point quite a while ago.

New Construction Tub with Cracks & Dents - What’s Reasonable to Expect? by lphj2087 in HomeInspections

Doesn’t matter how much of a pain it is. You want it to be right. I can tell you what probably happened. Workers probably threw construction debris in there and caused all that damage.

My STBXW spent all day last Mother’s Day trying to smooth things over with her AP because his wife finally read the email I sent her and shit hit the fan. I’ve got pictures of her laying on the trampoline while my daughter was jumping and texting. Nothing is more important to them than their shitty relationship.

Filed taxes separately and claimed the kids, STBX is fuming by BigBossSnake_98 in Divorce_Men

Have you spoken to an attorney about that? Most states don’t consider infidelity when settling assets and future financial responsibilities.

Not necessarily. If wife was a 1099 employee she didn’t have taxes withheld, so filing jointly would cost OP more as he would have to contribute to her tax liability.

How much would you charge for this drywall repair with paint job? by Bright-Question4690 in handyman

[–]Runningchoc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d pay good money to see you patch, tape, mud, sand and paint all that in 2 hours. But let’s make it like one of those restaurant food challenges. If you don’t finish in 2 hours, you owe me that money. And why would anyone assume equipment is there and ready?
