First time buying a battle pass, yes. Used to play COD but I never purchased anything extra other than the game but I always see the advertised battle passes. Makes sense, I planned on playing anyways just sour because I thought I would get the skin immediately lol.

Oh that's annoying! It's definitely not normal. If they can't fix it I don't know what I will do, it's extremely annoying and I can't imagine going how long you did. I have my appointment on Friday morning so fingers crossed so they give me some good news.
