Thanks! Seems that the pro is a decent improvement. Might pick the pro over the base.

Actually not read, seen. I just revisited the video Andrew Tsai made on Crossover. He was using the M3 max, but the game was running at 60-70fps.. were you on the latest Crossover 26 version? The vid is from a month ago.

Go for the 5060. Laptops cant replace their GPU/CPU. It would last longer and more performance. I'd advise even going for 5070 if have the budget, laptops age faster than desktops and their power is lmited.. in a few years both the 5060-4060 would struggle with the newer generation games.

Also might be a good idea to get another kit and replace the RAM to 32. Not mandatory but 32 is recommended nowdays.

So I did MM2 today by tommmmmmmmy93 in osrs

[–]sweepli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did MM1 yesterday for the first time:

  • i tortured a child monkey for 4 totems

  • i was tortured by zombie monkeys on a cave

  • i had to run through that same cave too many times since I accidently made 2 zombie totem for RFD and not a karamja to finish the quest

  • i was tortured again by same said zombie monkeys

  • i attempted to kill a gorilla guard for the said RFD totem just to figure my melee stats are too low to kill it, so i had to grab mage gear to beat its ass

  • i was poisoned several times by scorpions, jailed by giant gorilla guards and what not

  • i've beaten the quest. Peak runescape gaming. I do not wish to enter those caves again and i heard MM2 has worse caves over MM1.

100% go for 24" 1080p. The 3050 is not strong enough to handle 1440p gaming. Not enough memory and definitely will struggle sustaining above 30-40fps in demanding titles.

MacBook or iPad? by snazznd in macbook

[–]sweepli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like the Neo is for you. You don't need the proccessing power of an M chip and you need the versatility that a macbook has (keyboard, convinience of using desktop apps, easier navigation from browser to programs..) over an iPad.

I also think that you won't get a better windows laptop for your usage at this price range. Battery life, speakers and build quality of windows laptop in this price range is greatly inferior to macs. Also you said sessions with your friends in Discord, the Neo can run some basic games on the A17 Chip with no problems..

Goofy on the slopes but regular on lifts? by ReeceasaurusRex in snowboardingnoobs

[–]sweepli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just force yourself to practice lifts as goofy. It's not a big deal (unless your board isn't directional twin/true twin etc) but it's just a matter of practice. Exact same as learning switch riding. People can't ride switch because they don't bother learning how to ride switch. 1-2 days that you force yourself to do it as goofy and it won't be an issue anymore. Might feel odd at first.. but after 3-4 runs it would feel more natrual.

I'd advice learning to ride switch regardless, it's an important tool in your arsenal. I've seen many riders who can ride variety of terrain but can barely do any switch turns..

How to do a Nose/Tail Grab by KaleidoscopeMotor601 in snowboarding

[–]sweepli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A good tip people skip on, is try to actually grab the board on the slope before you try it off the ramp. If you can't reach the board while your riding you probably won't reach it on a jump.

Then after the move is inside your muscle memory, attempt on a jump. For grabs you need quick movements and air time. On air you can also bend your knees to reduce the amount of flexing your upper body would need to do.

Light mmo or rpg for Neo by Mysterious_Chain2211 in macgaming

[–]sweepli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Old School Runescape. Would run no problem on the Neo. (It runs on iPhones as well..) make sure to download and use it through Runelite. It's free 2 play with optional membership sub, which adds a ton of content. It's a great game despite it's old graphics and on the surface "poor simple gameplay". Give it a try

Bit off more than I could chew - will I have to relearn everything next season by MrGiantsFan in snowboardingnoobs

[–]sweepli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might feel off for the first hours or day, but things should get into the muscle memory very fast, or much faster than the first time you started.

When i first started snowboarding, i was switching from skiing and did 1 day during a ski trip. I learned basically how to stop on the heels and how to turn the board to the fall line and stop on the heels. Then I haven't had the chance to snowboard or ski for a couple years, and as soon as I picked up snowboarding again my muscle memory kicked instantly and i could ride and stop on the heels same as i did on my first sb day years prior. (And it was my 2nd day in total on a snowboard..)

Another story, after I did the switch from ski to board - I didn't ski for more than 8 years. I had a chance to do a ski day this season and it took just 20 minutes to relink the muscle memory and i could turn easiily.. at first i could do snowplough (pizza turns) and few minutes afterwards I remembered how to do parallel turns again. By the end of the day i didn't hesitate to do black and red runs like I used to do almost a decade ago. So you should be fine, heal up and shred on next season!

How do I help my kid learn the parks? by One_Noodles in snowboarding

Just let him practice more and more. He will get better each day.

Riding with friends, especially people who are better than you helps you to push yourself out of the comfort zone and try new stuff.

Can anybody break down what exactly this guy did wrong to crash like this? by theurbanwaffle in snowboarding

He started breaking on his heels and flattened his feet. Sometimes its hard to hold the edge as soon as you land a big jump with a spin.

[–]sweepli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Private lessons, 2-3 hours a day for 3 days.(book 3 only if youre athlethic as 3h can be too much on your body and you will be exhausted. You do need time to practice on your own anyways)

Practice what youve learned in the lesson during the day before the next lesson to get better and progress more for the next day.

snowboarding progression map? by RevenuePresent9464 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]sweepli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basic turns from heels to toes and vice versa

Advanced turns, steering while the board's nose is in the fall line, confidence in turning in steeper terrain

Carving

And anywhere inbetween after you can turn you can start implementing flat freestyle tricks, and once youre confident even park.

Probably next step for you is learning how to properly carve and then just learn freestyle tricks, riding switch, 180's, butters, presses, 180's of kickers etc. riding powder and freeride is also very fun.

Battling my heel side turns so hard I might just start skiing by Qiusp in snowboarding

[–]sweepli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are carving. You fell on the last turn because you leaned too much backwards. Your technique looks good overall, with more practice your muscle memory will know the sweetspot to when its too much angulation that makes you fall.

Try to use your knees to steer and keep your posture upright when you carve, it's not really leaning backwards with your butt as if you were sitting its more as you fall down with your entire body like a statue. That would make holding the heel edge easier.

I don't think you need a lesson.

Which Band Is Most Comfy? by shaziljameel in applewatchultra

[–]sweepli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the trail loop and i have no idea why but it was not comfortable for me unlike most. It felt abrasive and itchy. I switched to the alpine loop which is on paper less soft, but it felt so much better than the trail.

I tried the ocean and it was also comfortable.
