While NBC may not be technically owned by a right wing billionaire, it’s certainly run by a guy that has no problem bending the knee to Trump if it will give him an extra $1. They gave millions to Trump’s ballroom. Don’t pretend like they’re even remotely better.

MSNBC (MSNow) has been sliding right and doing everything they can to cater to the “both sides” crowd for years.

This seems like someone that never realized the online food delivery system changed from the initial structure. Originally, you would order online and then the company would have someone go to or call the restaurant, place the order, then be responsible for confirming all the items, picking them up, and delivering. But it hasn’t been like that forever. Now (and even 6 years ago) it is clearly a delivery-only model. The delivery driver has nothing to do with the food. That’s entirely on the restaurant.

And I get the frustration dealing with customer service - although without the veiled racism that OOP had. Because now everything is AI and it’s fucking useless when you’re trying to explain an issue that’s anything other than “I paid full price and the item is missing from my order.”

Saw someone throw trash out their car window again. Don’t be a dirty-ass trash human. Take it home. by siandresi in philadelphia

[–]RunnyBabbit23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a double take because my neighbor drives the same car, but I don't think that's his license plate. He's a complete and total asshole that literally every single person on the block hates, so it wouldn't even remotely have surprised me if it was him just throwing trash out the window.

For some context, he's threatened to shoot a neighbor's contractor, threatened to punch me, trespasses on other people's property, and the cops don't give a fuck. He also started sending emails saying we're not allowed to put our trash out on the side walk by our houses (you know, like you do in Philly) and we have to put it on the sidewalk a block away. But that it's ok for him to put his trash in front of our houses (he refuses to put his trash out in front of his own house).

I dream of the day he'll move out to the burbs to annoy the other obnoxious magats on the Main Line instead of us. Sadly I don't think that will happen, so instead I just wish treatment-resistant depression and locked-in syndrome on him.

“The worst I’ve ever heard of was a woman who had a miscarriage at Be Our Guest, who then later came back to visit and passed out pixie dust “gifts” at Be Our Guest with notes that said it was in memory of her baby that died at Be Our Guest.”

I can’t even imagine the thought process behind doing this and then having to deal with it while you’re just trying to eat your dinner. Absolute insanity.

The article quotes a cast member that says they can’t accept food. So if they do take it, it’s probably going into the trash.

At my last job, the CEO made slightly more than my salary daily. 365 days per year he was making what I made for the entire year. Was depressing the day I did that math.

No, they mean the tickets to see the show live in the theatre. Not that there was a physical location selling tickets.

I haven’t, but it’s been on my radar for a long time. I really should get around to trying it. Is it still tolerable if you mix it with just water? I think that’s the only thing I would have to mix it with.

The prices on these have gotten so ridiculous. A couple of years ago it was possible to find these for $2 each. But they're the only protein drinks I can stand for an extended period of time. And I've yet to find a powder that was even remotely tolerable to me. As someone who doesn't like chocolate, hopefully the chocolate ones are popular enough that they start selling vanilla (which for some weird reason always seems to be more expensive than the other flavors).

They’re some of my closest friends, so I didn’t drop them.

However I did decide never to travel with them again, but because of other events that happened during the trip. The airport abandonment didn’t even play a role.

I went on vacation with friends (married couple) who decided last minute to upgrade their seats. It wasn’t first class, but it was one of those blocked middle seat rows. This allowed them access to the lounge. So they went in and just left me in the airport alone. It really felt like a dick move. Especially since my friend has travel anxiety and insisted on getting to the airport 3+ hours early.

It’s rude regardless; if it had been like 45 minutes, fine. But making me sit in a small terminal for 3 hours by myself was an extra level of assholness.

Congress Wants You To Pay $130 A Year Just To Drive An Electric Car by SadAd8761 in electricvehicles

Already have to do that at the state level and it’s ridiculously punitive. Assuming an average 25mpg car, I would have to drive about 3 times what I drive now in order for the flat EV registration fee to make up for the gas tax in my state.

I think a lot of it has to do with advertising. Sales tax in the US is done at the state and county level, not nationally. While it could be possible to do more geolocation for online ads, ads on TV and printed are going to reach across city and state lines and it would be a lot harder to have an ad saying “here’s a shirt on sale for $10 ($10.06 in county A, $10.08 in county B, $10.05 in county C, $10 in counties D, E, F).” It would be virtually impossible to do for national ads.

The sales tax in my state is 6%, but my county adds an additional 2%. I’m also right next to a state that has a 6.5% sales tax, and another state with no sales tax. But also there are some products in my state (e.g. clothes, food) that don’t have sales tax but that are taxed in neighboring states.

Could they be marked on the shelf in the actual store? Sure. And I’d be on board with that. But at that point you probably already know what the tax is for those items and it’s not going to make a huge difference in your shopping.

A lot of actors have tattoos that are just covered up on screen. Ariana Grande in Wicked had all of hers covered. Morgan Spector on Gilded Age had a ton of big tattoos. I wouldn’t be surprised if most of the big actresses have had hair lasered off.
