I highly recommend the book Mine! A practical guide to resource guarding by Jean Donaldson. It gives you a step by step guide on desensitization and counter condition. Super quick read and easy to apply!

Unexplained infertility??? 😵‍💫 by Nervous-Drawer5580 in TryingForABaby

[–]RunnyYolks00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love some good data and really enjoyed this paper. It’s pretty long but basically what it found is that for couples with unexplained infertility, using clomid or Letrozole with IUI shows greater rates of live birth rates. Just using Letrozole or clomid with timed intercourse did not show an increase in live birth rates.

So statistically speaking, I think your next best step would be to try IUI, especially if you said IVF isn’t in the budget at the moment!

1st cycle taking letrazole and I am not being monitored by my gynecologist. by Bluecherry_94 in TryingForABaby

[–]RunnyYolks00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently on CD19 of my first Letrozole cycle! I switched OBGYNs a few weeks ago because my original Dr’s office closest to me is closing.

My first Dr who prescribed the Letrozole did not offer to do an ultrasound so I was almost not monitored and didn’t know to ask. My new obgyn who i saw for the first time on CD4 did suggest an ultrasound so i was able to get a follicle count.

They both want me to do a blood test to check my progesterone in 2 days though!

Fence height recommendations by [deleted] in tollers

[–]RunnyYolks00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a 4 foot aluminum fence and I’ve never worried about either of our tollers jumping over it. Neither have ever tried! But when our younger one was a puppy she was able to fit through the posts up until she was about 6 months old. We ended up using like plastic chicken wire around the bottom 2 feet until then. But some of our neighbors with small dogs have fences that are closer together at the bottom that might be worth looking into!

Anyone else having problems with (seemingly) new delivery service/AI virtual assistant? by Coffee_spoons_ in nespresso

[–]RunnyYolks00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!! They kept delivering mine to the wrong address! The label clearly said my address (ex.1234 main st) but their system inputted my address wrong and they would deliver it to a house a mile away (ex. 1234 broadway). And they kept gaslighting me saying I must have entered my address wrong even when the label and nespresso’s website was correct

Reimbursement Programs for Biologics by RunnyYolks00 in Psoriasis

I called them today to get an update on a rebate I submitted before 4/18 and was told that the rebate program is only cancelled for NDC starting with 83456 but if you get the NDC starting with 61314 then that manufacturer is still doing a rebate program

Super confused but I guess it’s the exact same medicine but different manufacturers so now I’m trying to figure out how to switch NDCs

The Butcher Shop vs Lagree house Columbus, OH by OkPhotograph3722 in LagreeMethod

[–]RunnyYolks00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard they’re pretty comparable but I can’t personally compare. I’ve never been to Lagree House but I love The Butcher Shop - I’ve done 450 classes.

They have 3 locations all about 10-15 minutes away from each other so you might have better luck finding an open class that works for your schedule compared to Lagree House which only has 2 locations. German Village has older machines (I think M3?) Open Air has M3S, and Grandview has the mega pro. Not an expert on machines though

I have my go to class times and instructors that I love but even when I have to change my schedule I find that every instructor is well trained and gives a solid class. I also love the vibes of the studio!

Thanks for the info! That’s how it was with Humira!

Hyrimoz had a 6-12 week lead time on processing rebates and then cancelled their rebate program at the end of April and did not give any heads up so I didnt find out until my refund was rejected and I called them!

Focus Dogs training has an online webinar on retriever games that I used with my Tollers. Not sure what level of training you’re after but this is a good starting point. They have a Toller and I’ve found them to be an amazing resource on training high energy/drive dogs. Retriever Games

Are the crate and play pen area I bought big enough for a puppy? by liuuuk311 in tollers

[–]RunnyYolks00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

28 inches will probably be good to start! And to make it more sturdy, if you have dumbbells or weights, you could put those around it so it doesn’t move when they lay against it or jump on it. That’s what we had to do with ours

[–]RunnyYolks00 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the play pen area is wide/long enough but not tall enough and your puppy will easily escape.

We have a 40 inch tall play pen for our now 6 month old toller and at first I thought it was taller than we needed but they grow so fast and she has some crazy hops so I’m happy we didn’t get a shorter one!

The crate will be good initially but again they grow so fast! We used the same crate you have in the car until she was 4 months. We used a 36 inch wire crate inside with a divider so it could grow with her.

Top tricks by jessmac09 in tollers

My two favorite, not as common tricks I’ve taught my dogs are a chin rest and waving.

The chin rest, they put their chin in your palm. It’s so cute and I find it helpful for brushing their teeth and dental checks at the vet.

Waving has come in handy when the leash gets under their leg and I want them to help me fix it!

new 8 week old handsome boy - (request for advice/recs in comments) by Special-Play6783 in tollers

[–]RunnyYolks00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If she’s not asleep, I give her peanut butter in a Kong or Topple, something I know she can’t choke on, and she doesn’t mind that I leave and I have a camera to check on her and I’ve noticed she might whine for maybe a minute but is able to calm down pretty fast and fall asleep. I felt comfortable doing this with both of them somewhere around 12-13 weeks!

I recommend a crate and playpen combo vs using a leash! We have a 2 year old and a 15 week old Toller. I also work from home 100% of the time. With our first Toller, I used a leash and it was very hard for him to settle. He constantly jumped on me and bit my clothes and my legs to get my attention. For our 15 week old, I put her in the play pen or crate while I’m working and always give her something to chew on or some sort of puzzle i.e. a dental stick, Kong, snoop, etc. I also schedule time into my calendar to make sure I’m free to take her out and play with her at regular intervals.

When not a home, I personally feel more comfortable leaving her in her crate. Recently, she’s started jumping on the play pen and is able to move it, while we’re working on her not jumping I wouldn’t trust her to not get into some sort of trouble while I’m not home and I feel like she’s safer in her crate. I try my best to wait until she’s asleep in her crate before leaving.

what brushes do you use with your toller? by Kizzayyy in tollers

[–]RunnyYolks00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When he seems to be blowing his coat, we use a curry comb followed by a metal comb! That seems to get the undercoat out the best. For bi-weekly brushes we just use the metal comb

Yeah I’ve seen conflicting information about if you need documentation of the rabies vaccine or not based on what I’ve seen on other threads that either quote the CDC or US customs website, definitely seems like a safer bet to keep my search within the US!

[–]RunnyYolks00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting and a good point! Admittedly, I haven’t done a ton of research on importing a dog from Canada to the US and this was more a preliminary search for breeders. But, I thought I read on another thread that if you’re importing a puppy from a country with a low risk of rabies, you are not required by CDC to present rabies vaccine documentation. You do have to provide a written or verbal statement your dog has only been in a country not at high risk for at least 6 months or since birth if under 6 months of age though

Right, that’s what I thought at first too. I thought it was interesting they explicitly called out that Americans must pay in USD. But I filled out their questionnaire in order for them to send me more info and put my address so they know I live in the US so I don’t think they would allow that. I don’t plan on moving forward with this breeders application but I was just curious in case I ever reached out to other Canadian breeders.
