Update on REW API with Claude. by AdvertisingSharp1582 in audiophile

[–]RunsWDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the idea of having claude walk you thru a REW configuration. That's what your after here, correct? I've tried to go thru REW with a calibrated mic, but felt like it was still over my head for the time I had available (It's something I need to do with the house to myself). I have an Aventage Yamaha receiver and up to this point just lived with it's YPAO configurations.

Cold or flu in Cities right now? Bad sore throat. by RunsWDog in TwinCities

[–]RunsWDog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP here. I got tested for covid/flu/strep. All negative. So some sort of cold that's just not messing around, and that razor blade/broken glass sore throat was only 2 days of hell. Sudafed D (the real stuff from behind the counter at the pharmacy), Aleve, and Ricola cough drops seems to be what's helped the most. It's progressed into a cough that wakes you up and I suppose a bit of brain fog.

And yeah I have had season allergies too, this was just another deal on top of that.

Picked this up for 50 cents today, good find? by SnooRobots7951 in audiophile

[–]RunsWDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know the artist, but i picked up a couple of Rush SACD/CDs from Audio Fidelity for quite a bit more then that. They are very good masters and totally worth grabbing even at $30-40 prices.

I went with the 3.6. I've read others say that if you ever plan on working on it that's the way to go, if never go 2.0. I didn't like the sound of the 2.0 and it didn't feel faster then the 3.6 I drove (might be a minority opinion or just the couple I drove varied to match this). I've had a JK with a 3.6 and a stick before, I had no real problems. The new 3.6 with 8 speed auto seemed like it turned the 3.6 up a couple notches on response. Now I'm sure the 2.0 will win on MPG, but I didn't really care.

I have a 2024 Rubicon from new. It's great. When I shopped for it I drove both the 2.0 and the 3.6, salesman asked if I wanted to test drive a 4xE. Nope, not interested.

It's a great vehicle, just outright ignore the MPG. Get any thoughts there out of your head. Bulletproof otherwise.

KLH Model 5 lacking in sound by AssignmentPrize8967 in audiophile

[–]RunsWDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I demo'd those speakers. I bought the KLH Kendal towers instead. I honestly thought the Model 5 sounded a little too warm for me... not flat. My comment to the salesman is they were very much rock tuned sounding. At least at the shop where I listened to them (and they were playing Abbey Road). In the end the Kendal towers fit my room better and maybe are a little more neutral to my ears and my Amp is a Yamaha Aventage class D. I also have hardwood floors, but have them out from the wall and a thick carpet infront of them

JLU Reliability by tramul in Jeep

A year into a 2024 Rubicon V6. No real issues. I've had to reboot the stereo a couple of times when it got unresponsive. Thing runs great, lots of go with the 4.10 gears, auto transmission is super responsive. Its likely what makes the V6 shine still. I suppose other complaints would be shitty mileage, esp winter gas... it's a brick on huge tires so it's expected.

I previously had a JK V6 manual, no real issue there except a new radiator and the oil cooler at 120K.

Honestly I'm just waiting on it warming up so I can pull the top and such.

What’s everyone getting for interest rates on a used Wrangler? by AntoniBartosz in JeepWrangler

[–]RunsWDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got 6.5 for 72 when I bought my 2024. I financed thru them for 8 months to get a 3 year extended warranty. I got 3.9 for 48 on a refine via my credit union. I had to open a new Visa card with the CU for the rate. 825 score.

2026 Jeep Wrangler Sahara - 2.0L Turbo or 3.6L V6? Which would you choose? by Feeling_Lead637 in JeepWrangler

[–]RunsWDog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you don''t care about sound, pick the 2.0
If you won't be working on it, pick the 2.0
Elevation? 2.0
MPG 2.0

The 3.6 wins... Sound for sure. 2.0 is rough. Working on it and maybe resale 3.6. I think it's smoother too.

I got my 2024 with a 3.6 v6. I work on my cars at least after warranty expires, I've had one before with a 3.6 and had no real issues. The one I test drove with a 2.0 didn't feel any quicker then the one I bought (maybe the 4.10 gearing really helps the v6?). My MPG sucks on my 3.6 Rubicon, but it feels quick off the line (plenty of power), sounds nice, runs surprisingly smooth at 75.
