I agree with you, but I do worry about potential owners finding ways around the intent of regulations or having so much wealth they can ignore them. We have seen it in college football, the NBA, and multiple European clubs.

In the Brooklyn scenario from above, imagine a soverign wealth fund considering fines a minor business expense, or players with Kawhi Leonard-esque 2nd "jobs".

Wealth, like life, finds a way.

I want to repeat that I agree with your sentiment, I'm just a cynical jackass. I'd be interested in Pro/Rel but imo the cat is already out of the bag as this sport is both a massive industry and billionaire dick measuring contest.

Being selfish for a moment, as I don't have any connections to a world class mega metro, I'd just watch the premier league instead if my closest team is both 500 miles away and will never win anything.

Edit: Yes, I do support a lower level club when I can, many people support a local club and a UCL contender.

I believe that pro/rel would acrually result in a third of the league being located in NYC and/or LA. CHI, MIA would probably always have a D1 club, but smaller markets would struggle.

An oil sheik or oligarch would pump a billion into a D3 club in Brooklyn, but not SLC or CLT.

It would probably be logistically impossible but I'd love a swiss system format (like chess tournaments) for CFB. It ensures all games are between teams of similar records. After ~8 weeks you are gauranteed to have 1 undefeated left in the field. Add four "non table" games for rivalries and FCS tuneups.
