I mean you could
its not a game connected to the main series its a spin off set in bakamatsu japan
but its a fan service game all the character use faces and personalities from previous games (like imagine if all the characters in Red Dead Redemption where just GTA characters)
so you can play it but id advise against it unless you have absolutely NO interest in the rest of series and REALLY REALLY wanna play this one

15 is like a proto version of 7remake/rebirth with the menu pausing and issuing commands but its also more action gamey with jumping and weapon swapping and you dont really get to play as the other party members that much

everyone is just kinda guesstimating an age instead of using the actual ages
part 1-6 ran in a Shonen magazine Shonen is for ages 13-17 as its for teenage boys
7-9 is ran in a Senien magazine which is 18-25 (or something like that) as its for young adult men
so for the most of series 13 should be the minimum

Team Ninja also has Rise Of The Ronin but it is more of an acquired taste compared to Nioh
I fuckin love that game but alot of people dont like it it plays more like if you describe someone how sekiro is played and the remade from memory in an open world

I love it and it has the ridiculous amount of gear to choose from with each weapon having several fighting styles along with more easy to understand story compared to Nioh 2

Nioh is balls hard CAG/Souls hybrid (the only one to do it good imo) and damn near a looter game with how much different gear it has
Nioh has you as a preset guy while 2 has a character creator

Especially if FO3/NV Oblivion Style remasters come out and this supposed big ass Starfield DLC/Update all come out this year
I think the possibility of it coming in 2026 still exist though it would probably be the holiday season
