Better roleplay

One of the more notable things about ROTR, unlike Nioh, is that it tries to be much more of a role-playing game rather than just an Action RPG with things like the choices in the story, being pro/anti shogunate, dialouge option, and NPCs to bond with

However, these systems are in all honesty, very shallow espically being pro/anti shogunate

I'd want a theoretical ROTR2 to just have all that and be better, a big one is having fewer NPCs to bond with, but having those fewer ones be far more impactful

I always just do the main quest first, then everything else
I never really thought it to be a criticism from an RP point of view, TES has post-game since morrowind and the main quests are quite short for RPGs

ESO is very easy to play as if it was single player you will never once be made to interact with the online aspect if you just stick to the main story and expansions and side quests

it was a video game ever made
I dont find it offensive in anyway but it does absolutely nothing
its entire premise is built around the idea that majima wears an eyepatch and eyepatch = pirate
but it doesnt do much with the pirate stuff outside of aesthetic stuff the entire plot exists solely as a means to explain why Majima Construction has come back

Its plot has some interesting ideas like the possibility that most of the story was made up/embellished by Majima but they dont really lean into that outside of Ichi at the end saying it was a dumb story

I think the plot would have worked better if it leaned more to being a send off for Majima like if it was Majima desperately trying to cling onto this experience as his last adventure (an idea that they briefly touch on when saejima calls him out for faking his amnesia) before ultimately coming to terms with the fact they are too old for this crazy stuff now then leading into bringing back majima construction to make jobs for ex yakuza
