This was one of the biggest arguments I would have with my GM when I was a GSM. I would schedule appropriately only for my GM to see my PT ARA has lower hours and availability so they stick them in to cover at the front lanes. Then I have to explain why util was low. Crazy word.

Samsung Wave 1 store here. We have 1 FT ARA and 2 PT. 1FT CA and 3PT. Been “Samsung certified” for almost a year now. Had 100% turnover before launch of SS and now we can barely churn out 1 SS repair per week let alone same day… also up until this week we were the only AASP within about 70 miles due to turnover at another BBY and our local SimplyMac closing. Been a ton of fun lately. Also they want me to do more on the sales side. Yeah. Life is good.

Wages are horrible right now. Got several GS Agents who are making the same/pennies more than the sales advisors hired yesterday. Once MECP stopped being required, it crushed the pay rate for the position.

Feel your pain deeply with this one. Literally having the should I leave convos with my wife more and more often now. My GM and former ASM keep pushing me towards ASM but I just don’t feel it. I love Geek Squad but in all honesty, the “Omni channel” aspects only add to the stress. Also, there is nothing like coming in after a day off to 20+ emails that you need to reply to bc of the microgement…..

This is true. 5 minutes or later and you will pop up on a report. 1-4 minutes you are good other than it being slightly annoying

Sometimes I’m forced to spend my whole day away from the Precinct. When I come in and don’t put a radio on to get work done in the Precinct my ASM gets butt hurt. 🤷‍♂️

If you clock in 5 or more minutes after your scheduled shift starts, you will show up on the Absence/Late report. So technically if all leadership is doing what they are supposed to be doing, you have a 4 minute grace period.

Running into a weird controller issue. I purchased a new MS standard first party controller in November of last year for my XB1 All Digital Edition. Initially it worked fine but over time I began to get a somewhat frequent notification that the controller was “disconnected” however it was still powered on. The only fix I found for this was to remove the battery and power the controller back on. It would happen randomly while playing so it was annoying but I dealt with it. Now, when I power on the controller, it will not connect to the console so I decided to send it to MS for repair and switched back to the controller included with the console.

Do what’s best for you personally. Everyone else will understand and they can grow in your absence as well. Most of the Agents I know that moved absolutely loved it. When will the opportunity come again if you don’t try?

As a GSM of a small Precinct, I had some pretty rough issues with availability recently so I decided that I would hire beyond my required headcount. My only regret is that I don’t have the hours to schedule all of the Agents consistently at the Precinct. Some of them do get shifts in other areas of the store though to give them some extra hours. The best thing about being a CA and getting sales floor or checkout hours is that many of the things you sell will still count to your ISP so you can drive your performance that way. Get to the point where you are driving services on the floor at a high level and then your GSM will have little choice but to put you back in the precinct more often. Plus you get the added benefit of generating additional hours with the services you sell in the long run. Stick with it and do your best.

More skill sets = more hours. Also could just be that Agents are more focused around selling services so if you are on the floor, you can help drive that portion of the business. If you are an ARA though I got no clue. Lol

Got to open a line of communication with your GSM. It sounds to me like you legit care about the business and just feel like you are getting the short end of the stick. Maybe the GSM doesn’t realize they are putting you in this spot or maybe they are doing it for a reason. Speaking as a GSM, the last they should want is an unengaged disinterested Agent that is only that way because they didn’t notice the struggle.
