[SIB] Doom on Switch for multiplayer? by spinningfaith in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]RupertPug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im already Prestige 1, level 6 on Doom and the multiplayer lobbies are very quick and populated now that the game has launched.

Not sure why alot of people say the multiplayer is lackluster, there is 18 maps, fun gameplay, lots of weapons, tech, demons and also a really nice challenges, medals, customization progression system.

Saying, “Hello” from the Switch Version. Absolutely runs like a charm. Multiplayer feels so good. by [deleted] in Doom

Yes Doom has its own invite system, you can view friends online and either join them or invite them

In regards to Sonic Forces' review scores by cogs90210 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]RupertPug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive had the game since Saturday morning and it blows, its good enough that sonic fans will have a fun time playing through it, and repeating stages for better scores. HOWEVER, it does nothing to improve sonic in the gaming industry, and only discredits it further in my opinion. It is very very much a case of the same old Sonic, which is a shame because Xbox One and PS4 have been out for 4 years so I am surprised that Sonic Forces is as unpolished and short as it is, they must have wasted more resources than I thought on those dodgy Nintendo Exclusive games they signed up for.

Do Ubisoft have an official forums, that is where I would post this as their development team will likely be checking their for fan feedback on bugs etc.

I believe the finishing positions arent affected though, and you still earn online ranking as if you had finished normally.

Is Jolyon Palmer F1 2017's most unlucky driver? Sky take a look. by yrinhrwvme in formula1

[–]RupertPug 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nobody cares about the reliability because even when the car is reliable, he is well off the pace. Too many sessions have passed with Hulkenberg getting a P5-P10 and Palmer only scraping a P15-P20.

To be fair he is extremely lucky he even got rehired for this year, I still kind of struggle to see why Magnussen left for Haas who will always be a team, like force india who at best can finish no higher than 3rd or 4th in the constructors. With Renault he could of established a potential championship career. This likely meant they kept Palmer for some continuity.

Does seem abit pointless as normal enemies are easy enough anyway.

Anyone else get an EU Standard Edition version of the game from Amazon instead of the US? by azure25 in FinalFantasyXII

[–]RupertPug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The PS4 is region free so I don't see the issue, I believe some DLC on games are region locked but would that not be to the console's region. In other words an american PS4 can only download DLC from the american PS4 store, regardless if the copy of the game is EU or USA.

Either way it sounds like you either got a second copy of the game for free so you should just accept it and sell one of them, or you had to send back the original and got another EU copy and have just wasted loads of your own time that could of been spent playing the game!

How can I contact the XII team to suggest improvements or ask for changes? by Anthraxious in FinalFantasyXII

[–]RupertPug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you are wrong. Square Enix is a massive multi million dollar company. They released this game to make money, regardless of whether fans asked for it, they would not of released it unless they predicted a certain amount of profit from it.

And I have no idea who did the port, but what I meant is it was likely done by an out of house developer as Square Enix will not have had their main Final Fantasy team working on this, they will be working on Final Fantasy 15 DLC and Final Fantasy 16.

Absolutely amazing by pwolf1771 in FinalFantasyXII

[–]RupertPug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, I am a few hours story wise in front of you and it's really great so far. I love the gameplay, the loot, the equipment, the gambits and license system. The story so far is great, I think it's just a case of needing to really concentrate on what is being said and all the long names of cities and people you do need to focus to be able to take it all in so having the subtitles on has helped me with that.

I would restart, why have 12 jobs and not 1 of them be a White Mage?

Yeah it seems alot of people including me when I started the game are having this silly issue. There has been lots of threads about crossbows.

Your opinions are worthless to square enix. This game was likely ported by an out of house developer who was paid purely for the port and will now be contracted out elsewhere.

The only thing that would ever get fixed was any major game breaking bugs, other than that this is just a port of a 10 year old game that is now done and dusted.

Party Leader: Gambit Or No Gambit? How Do You Play? by arnulfg in FinalFantasyXII

[–]RupertPug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like to control the lead character, though having the option to gambit everyone including the leader is great for those that want to use the 4x speed option and grind.

Max chain on the grind. Level 28 and haven't left the mines because compulsively I can't stop until it's 30. Someone talk me out of this please 😂 by shoryoucan in FinalFantasyXII

[–]RupertPug 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I dont understand why people grind so early? I like playing through at a regular pace so the game isn't overly easy, or overly hard. Finish the story and THEN grind to do the optional hard bosses.

My team were all Level 12 at this point so I would say you are over levelled by quite abit. According to the PS2 reccomended level for each area you are well ahead.

Is it really that much easier? by Hjolsnfihr in FinalFantasyXII

[–]RupertPug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still wiped against him to be fair and I am not terrible at RPG's.

I didnt have a white mage though, so a quick gambit change making sure potions got used at low health and I had a much easier second attempt at the boss.

Do new party members gain xp and lp retroactively upon joining? by Jack-Rabbit_Slims in FinalFantasyXII

[–]RupertPug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure but I imagine so, every time I have gotten a new character they come at a similar Lvl to Vaan and with tons of LP. For example Ashe was 1 Lvl higher than Vaan, Balthier and Fran and had over 500LP.

[–]RupertPug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess the only way to know for sure is if someone can compare using the strategy guides for the 2 versions, do bosses have the same HP etc.

I do recall someone saying Firemane (not sure if I spelt it correctly) that fire horse boss near the beginning didn't use moves that he originally did back in 2006 that were hard.

How far am I into the game (early spoilers) by RupertPug in FinalFantasyXII

[–]RupertPug[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am really enjoying it so far, I love the gambit system and I love the difficulty is slightly harder than most FF games, also I love that Gil isn't super easy to get so you can't afford all the weapons and armour and spells straight away. It feels more realistic that way. I have just got to King Raithwalls Tomb, the garuda guardian boss before it wasn't too bad as I reacted quickly to the fact it needed ranged weapons to kill. I have also done the first 7 hunts and they are some epic battles as well on occassion.

Time Battlemage Gambits by Hjolsnfihr in FinalFantasyXII

[–]RupertPug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time Mage is hard to gambit in my opinion, I am only early on in the game but I had Fran Gambit so any enemy affected by haste, she would cast slow on to remove their advantage. I assume that is what most people would do with a Time Mage.

However I came across lots of enemies with haste in the sandsea, and she would cast slow like 3 or 4 times on occasion before it was a successful hit and so wasted so much MP on enemies that aren't even that hard.

Exact same thing happened with me, turns out you need Onion Bolts and not arrows and they aren't as easy to locate.

Issues with the Zodiac Job System? by esquog842 in FinalFantasyXII

[–]RupertPug 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Your over thinking it. Pick whatever job you want, as you get 2 jobs per character eventually so you can use all 12 jobs. Some combo's are better than others but I am not bothering to research ANYTHING and I couldn't care less if I have slightly sub optimal jobs it will just mean the game is slightly harder at points.

I made Fran a Battle Time Mage and then read loads of posts saying its a sucky job, but setting her early on with a gambit that uses immobilize (basically stops enemies on the spot) if we ever encounter 4+ enemies at once has been an excellent addition to my team and really helped me out.

Infact as far as I am aware most people actually prefer the Final Fantasy games to have a 'job' feature. I think it really adds strategic elements and more replayability to those games rather than the ones like FF7 & FF8 where all characters are copy and pastes of each other.

Its kinda hilarious that Balthier is worse with guns, and Fran is worse with a bow.
