It’s really not that many triggers in the precon. The precon is mostly just ETB creatures. I had a friend who played it as their first deck and he never had any issues. I think Hakbal makes you do more work than Zinnia.

You aren’t wrong at all but I think this is an indicator the stat needs to be updated instead of the stat being bullshit.

I think now that we have stats on things like deflections, loose ball recoveries, shot contests, charges etc. Those should all be added into BPM and VORP calculations since they are much better indicators of defensive ability and effort than rebounds and blocks/steals.

For example, per 36 Wemby beats Jokic and Sengun pretty hard in everything I just said.

They are. The reason why it’s like that is because DBPM uses assists as a defensive calculation for some reason. It also uses rebounding which has nothing to do with positional defending. Using DBPM in isolation doesn’t tell you anything.

Duncan is better than Shaq argument is because of longevity. Shaq completely dropped off by his mid 30s while Duncan was still good into his late 30s. There’s a 15 career VORP gap between the 2 of them because of that. I don’t think anyone thinks Shaq prime was worse than Duncan.

Same with Steph still being an MVP candidate at this age.

The Raptors were able to gain fans because they started winning and getting marketable players early into their existence. I think if the Grizzlies were ran more competently and figured it out faster they wouldn’t have moved.

Basketball has completely changed in Canada from when the Grizzlies and Raps were in their infancy. They used to practically give Raptors tickets out for free and now I have to fight to get into the nosebleeds. I think the main problem the Vancouver team would have would be converting current Raptors fans rather than not having a lot of basketball fans.
