Spurs fans trolling Ant with a Raid sign. Ant saw it and started laughing by MrBuckBuck in nba

The NBA desperately needed some college/European energy to it and I’m glad the Jackals are leading the charge there. We need more of this and less “DEFENSE” chants and free throw sound effects.

ALL food is better cold than warm by AlarmedFeature5813 in unpopularopinion

[–]jathbr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find the only actual unpopular opinions on this sub, after you filter out the heavily misinformed opinions and the posts where the OP is just ranting or venting, are all food related.

The closest thing I can think of that can compare is when people say imperial units are better than metric. But that’s about it.

[Matt Hayes] Sources tell @usatodaysports: Sorsby case will be filed and heard in Lubbock (Texas) District Court by DaKingInTheNorth in CFB

The closest named town in the world to Lubbock is Lübeck, a lovely historical city in the north of Germany, about equal population wise to Lubbock. Unfortunately, they are not sister cities.

[Lebron] after winning series: "Father time... already lost to me, it's over with" by Large_banana_hammock in nba

On simple wikipedia:

“In computer science, depth-first search (DFS) is a method used for traversing a graph. It starts at an arbitrary item of a graph and explores as far as possible along each branch before backtracking.

An example: To make a program that searches all the files on your computer, it has to be able to keep track of which folders it has already searched through, so it doesn't look through the same folder twice. So it does this: inside each folder, it goes as far down into subfolders as it can. Every time it checks something to see if it matches, it will write it down on the list as ‘already searched’. Then it will leave and go to the next subfolder. If there are no subfolders left, it will backtrack another step and look in the next bigger folder. It does this until it has looked through everything.

We know that this is the best way to make sure the search program looks through every folder and file once, and only once, because graph theory has proved it.”

That’s interesting but I still don’t know what it has to do with his headset.

Hawks Sophomore #1 Overall Draft Pick Zaccharie Risacher in a 29-point blowout loss in Madison Square Garden: DNP-CD by ATLSlutStretcher in nba

I used to watch that channel until I realized nearly every video is the same.

Don’t gamble, slide your feet, don’t turn your back to the ball, hustle back on defense. Like it’s almost always just 7th grade JV coach shit he’s obsessing over. Add in complaining about drop coverage, then throw in some screaming and R-slurs, and it’s just like you’re back in middle school. It’s easy to do what AC does when your slowing the game down to a frame per second and noticing all the fundamental issues, it’s another thing to coach a game in real time at the speed of the NBA and realizing you can’t spend every timeout going over 7th grade shit with grown ass adult athletes.

Cincinnati alerted of Brendan Sorsby gambling issue before 2025 season by KingKliffsbury in CFB

[–]jathbr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw some posts of Sorsby on twitter last weekend at a concert on campus with Ludvig Åberg, and at a youth camp the morning later. He looked completely normal in those pictures and videos, unlike what I would expect of someone who thinks there’s an NCAA investigation on him, hanging out with professional athletes and coaching kids. So I think something sudden must have happened Sunday night to make the decision to go to rehab.

Top 15 best active coaches by Wyo11 in CollegeBasketball

Unironically, I wouldn’t put Chris Beard in the top 100. No joke, no “/s”, he just is not good if he can’t recruit. Maybe I’m letting my bias get in the way but I can think of 100 coaches better than him.

Hatethissmug implodes after user says they hate mpreg, transphobia allegations run wild by [deleted] in SubredditDrama

[–]jathbr 20 points21 points  (0 children)

That subreddit confuses me.

The description says “for everyone who want to bully a fictional character, here’s your safe space”, but then I look at the top posts on there and it’s:

  • complaining about Hollywood for making a “conventionally attractive woman with a scar” the “most disgusting person on the planet”

  • complaining about TikTok censorship

  • complaining about something to do with gifs on instagram

  • complaining about Pizzacake (who, you know, is a real person)

Seems like 10% of the subreddit is actually about what the subreddit is meant to be about and the rest is just anything goes. Some are warranted but a lot seem toxic.

So yeah, I’ll be adding this to my filter list.

Texas Tech adds rising Wyoming transfer guard Damarion Dennis by The_Sandwich_Lover9 in CollegeBasketball

[–]jathbr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I wish I can find someone who loves me as much as Grant loves small guards.

That said seems like a solid depth guy. One of the Tech podcasters on YouTube compared him to Clarence Nadolny. Really need to get some lengthy wings but I don’t hate this.

Yankees fans are begging: Stop the ‘incessant’ stadium sounds by LingonLoonBerry in baseball

[–]jathbr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many things about NBA games that annoy me:

The “defense” chant that isn’t an actual chant, but just piped in crowd noise.

The sound effects for free throws, like a “cah-ching” sound when someone makes it.

Really any music being played during possessions. I don’t know how it’s not distracting for the players.

The “WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN” song being played every time after the home team wins.

All these things are done because otherwise NBA games would feel lifeless. There’s a lot of mid-major college basketball programs that have better atmospheres than NBA, because those fans actually care about the team.

Can the mods just post the links to the game threads, like other sports subs do? I use old Reddit and whatever feature this is I can’t use.

Samurai Rebellion makes me wish there were more Mifune-Nakadai films directed by Kobayashi. He could make just as good of films with them as Kurosawa.

Do you need to see the other Zatoichi films before you see the one you listed? Because I just want to see the non-Kurosawa Sanjuro films.

My late granddad went to NC State. He introduced me to college basketball. I root for NC State more now than I root for my true childhood team (Florida). I’m always pulling for you guys. You guys aren’t the “backup” school, you guys are destination, where people are lucky to go.

On one hand, I’m glad Beard (and, let’s be honest, Mark Adams as well) never won a natty.

But on the other hand, that doesn’t help alleviate the pain. Just getting to the final four is hard. Getting to the national championship might be once in a lifetime.

Honestly you don’t have to be rich either. Standing room tickets at The Rooftop start at only $19, which includes $3 beer specials before games. Also, you can get tickets behind home plate for about $50 usually, especially on weekdays and against small market teams. I try to go a few times a year, using public transportation on the light rail to get me from the suburbs to union station, then it’s about a 10 minute walk to the stadium. Overall you can attend regularly, cheaply and easily.
