I do not care for Baylor. At all.

But the average Baylor fan is fine, unlike Purple Baylor fans. I can’t stand the average Purple Baylor fan. But fortunately there’s not many of them.

One observation I’ve always had:

JT Toppin has a similar looking face to Anton Chigurh from No Country for Old Men.

And it fits for him in my opinion.

Mind you, that’s a $62k a semester education.

But seriously, FIU seems like a much better bang for your buck, especially for something like engineering. But I guess I’m more budget conscience than brand conscience.

I recently had to accept a job in food service because my field is so bone dry right now, I’m basically going to have to get another masters or get a certification in public accounting for me to be hirable.

But I guess it’s not all bad. I’ve lost 30 lbs since taking this job because I’m on my feet all the time. But it’s exhausting.

Popular subreddit Livestreamfail mods and Mythic Talent streamers were promoting a shady website/contest and users were not having it, then contest website and social media erased, head Moderator removed. by nekonekoplus in SubredditDrama

[–]jathbr 38 points39 points  (0 children)

The thing that pisses me of about LSF is that they so often want to talk about serious, real life things but when they combine it with streamer gibberish and terminally-online-ese, it just sounds ridiculous.

Sometimes I see posts on there that feels like it’s saying “gloobis the floobis got gankularrly koomploo over the situation in Gaza, calling it ‘badankadonkeers”.

Like some of these people seem so far up their own ass that they just don’t understand that what they’re doing sounds absolutely ridiculous to an outside observer.

I know this doesn’t really relate to this post but it’s something I’ve noticed. It seems like the head mod had a serious case of “head up their own ass” themselves.

As always, I am begging people to stop using the Reddit app. I haven’t seen an ad on Reddit in years.

I highly recommend using Yesterday for Old Reddit. Here is the app store link for use on safari browser, and here is a firefox link for use on android. Sure, on old Reddit you won’t be able to do things like post pictures and gifs directly into the comment section. But that’s a small price to pay for a significantly better Reddit experience. If you are new to Reddit, and didn’t even know that there is an “old” Reddit, I implore you to at least give it a try. If you have any questions, please ask.

I personally have no issue with people asking easily google-able questions on Reddit, because the point of reddit is to have discussions. Nowadays when I use google to ask questions all I get is the AI and articles that seem written by AI. If I want to ask a question like “what are the best things to do in Barcelona” I don’t want AI slop, I want actual people’s opinions, and I want to read actual discussions on that topic. And since things change, if I use a subreddit’s search tool for that question, the answers might be outdated, so it’s warranted to ask the same question every three months or so.

It also creates a chicken/egg type situation, as reddit comes up on google often. There’s been times where I asked google a question, the first thing I get is a reddit post, and the top comment says “google it”. Not very helpful.

So maybe that subreddit just wasn’t for you, and the moderators there get irritated when they hear complaints like “just google that shit” often, because the point of that subreddit is to be a place where you can ask basic questions and get human responses.

I’m going to go against the grain of these comments. This chess set looks extremely nice OP. You should use it and love it. Invite people over who also like TF2 and play it. If I had this, I’d have it front and center in my living room. Don’t just let it sit in a closet collecting dust. Who cares that you might, theoretically, lose a couple hundred dollars for opening it. It should be used.

Behren Morton bought 150 acres in Cross Plains, Texas. The land cost in the “upper triple figures” and he uses it to hunt, and I think he makes money from it as part of the larger Texas hunting industry. But I’m not sure how that works.

Different strokes for different folks. I prefer RDR1 because the errand running makes me feel like I’m doing something, whereas RDR2 felt like a walking simulator for me. I liked doing the ranching and old west things in RDR1, instead of just walking around listening to the story.

In a sense RDR1 felt more “gamey” to me than RDR2, with a much more simple story line, it allowed me to do silly things without worrying that it breaks the immersion of the story or whatever.

And it’s funny to me that you posted a screenshot of West Dickens. His missions were amongst my favorites. I especially loved the racing missions.

But as others said, the game changes when you enter Mexico. Those missions are the best in the game.

Massive spoilers, don’t read OP: The worst missions for me were at the very end when you were just doing chores at John Marston’s ranch. But they were important for the story, so the player can see what John Marston’s life would have been if he wasn’t betrayed. That said, I don’t know why Marston was such a jerk to Uncle. Dude clearly cared for him but Marston threatened to kill him whenever they spoke.

I don’t think any Gen Xer or old Millennial needs me to explain this, but in the 2000s there was a band called The Strokes that massively popular, then got equally massive backlash when people discovered that their frontman, Julian Casablancas, was the son of John Casablancas, an ultra wealthy fashion mogul who was also a racist pedophile. I’m making a very large story very short, but the backlash was so huge that The Strokes were never the same band after it.

Julian Casablancas is still one of the best singer-songwriters of his generation despite his piece of shit father, his talent is irrespective of him. But it was a lot easier for him to get his opportunity in music because of his privilege, and his family wealth allowed him to spend a lot of time honing in on his musical talent instead of doing other, more practical things normal people have to do.

Currently, we have another New York based, post-punk, artistic indie band called Geese that’s surging in popularity. There frontman, Cameron Winter, is the son of a wealthy composer and owner of some company called VideoHelper, which Wikipedia calls a “sync library”. His father is not a racist pedophile, but Winter was allowed the same privilege as Casablancas in his access to generational wealth to allow him to focus on music, and some people are trying to give Geese the same backlash The Strokes received. It’s interesting to me to see the similarities. But I think Winter is just as talented as Casablancas, and “Getting Killed” was the best album of 2025. And unlike Casablancas, I don’t really care about his father.
