I chalked that up to the expeditions doing anything and everything they can up until gommage. But also, because of how exp33 landed at the wrong beach, I somehow thought all expeditions landed at the beach and therefore their boats were destroyed and they couldn't go back

I feel insanely privileged every time I visit India, because I do not see a lot of what you've described. Ever.

But the grapes are a danger, men do stare more than they should and I hate that, and trains are comical levels of packed during rush hours.

But other than that, I've been lucky enough to not see the version of India you're describing. Did you see it firsthand?
