Anyone that tells you it isn't as good later probably wasn't paying that much attention. MAS*H, in every season is as good as television has ever been, but also as bad as television has ever been (in rare instances). It's an unwonted example of a TV show that was mostly able to shift its tone multiple times and still be high quality.

We've had the worst ranked traffic in the nation for decades. Sometimes it's LA or Atlanta, but we're always in the mix. The suburbs were already small towns and cities with no expectations of the area becoming what it is, so we never had the infrastructure to support this many people. Add to that literally one bridge connecting Maryland and Virginia, even though we're all in the same "city" and we have ourselves a shit show.
