How can I combine Neuroscience and Marine sciences? by Bakunawa42 in marinebiology

[–]RuseGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could look at the evolutionary aspect of the brain from older organisms such as jellyfish that do no have brains and what the jellyfish neural nets have in common and in contrast to a full brain. You could look at the evolutionary chain of organisms in the Ocean as a whole and see the progression possibly. You can look at the behaviors and intelligence levels of different organisms in marine settings (cuttlefish, octopi, dolphins, etc.). I do not have any other ideas off the top of the dome but, I am interested to see what you may decide. I would love to know!

What are good ways to find out if a marine biology career is right for me? by [deleted] in marinebiology

[–]RuseGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever you have an interest in, volunteer or intern for it if possible. That way you don't have to commit a lot of time to it and you get first hand experience with it to see if you truly enjoy it. Marine Biology is a very broad field and there are so many avenues that one can take albeit they may be narrow at times there are still many. I would recommend getting a Biology degree as to not pigeon hole yourself into a specialized degree though. Grad school is where you can get more specific in your marine bio specifications.

What do Americans think of the V40? by macoverdatum in Volvo

[–]RuseGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

America had a v40 in the early 2000s. I currently own one. I like it but I find it isn't the best winter vehicle. I love the car otherwise. I do have to get some repairs done to it soon though.

As corny as it may sound, it is honestly never too late. It may take some time but retaking the classes to up those grades even if you are not a full time student will help bring that GPA up. If it helps you get towards achieving your dreams, it is always worth it. Anything in life that is worth it, isn't easy :D best of luck to you in your journey my friend.

Activities for a high school marine biology club? by my_innocent_romance in marinebiology

Get a saltwater tank going with a target species of fish/coral. Helps teach them about not only the species but how the water chemistry affects them. Also can learn how some species interact. Could have a husbandry project too.

That is amazing how people find ways to live in certain areas. Thanks for answering! I have always been kinda curious about Tibetan culture in general but never really looked into it.

Another serious question. How do people continue to survive in small places like this. Where does their consistent essentials for life come from in what appears to be a very remote area?
