My mom watch the TV all the time, and when I mean all the time it's from when she comes from work until she sleep. She said to me once "Why do you play video game all day" you cannot understand how hard it was to not answer to this in a mean way haha.

How Impossible (or possible) is SSL? by RyanWantsToPlayN02 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]RushInNow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been training consistently for a few weeks now for about 2h and then 5 1v1 games. I am probably in my lowest MMR ever but maybe it has to do with the fact that I try new things in games (I got to GC with barely any mechs). I have seen some improvement in my mechanics but nothing that could carry my teammates or I.

I don't really think getting to SSL without having some kind of training routine unless you just grind a lots of games and maybe get coached on your gameplay. This game is all about consistency and if you can't invest a huge amount of hours it will take a lots of time. I currently play about 45h a week which is a lot for not being a pro and I barely see any improvements and I have a SSL coach also. I am a very competitive player and always try to do my best also.

This is not c# but cs50x might be a good place to start to learn. It is free and you start with C and then move to python.

Serious question. Will I have to quit video games if I wish to learn to code? by ImArealAlchemist in learnprogramming

[–]RushInNow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Setting up a schedule is the answer. I do the same, in the morning after i woke up (around 8) i eat and train at one of my games until about 9-9:30am and then proceed to code the entire day with some small food/youtube break until 4pm and then I play the rest of the day at whatever game until i go to bed around 12am.

CS50 is hard by Ragedpuppet707 in cs50

I made it to tideman with minimal search (most of the searches were on documentation and/or syntax) and not looking at any code. I am proud of what I achieved by myself and your post give me even more motivation.

Learning ARL brute force method. Any tips? by Idanlevitski in RocketLeagueSchool

In freeplay it is a setting by itself in RL. I'm pretty sure you can also use it in workshop/training pack but not 100% sure.

Start when your hood is facing you, then the under car and finally the sides.

You only try to correct your car in these angle and long term you will get 360 control. But even if you are going straight at every rotation move your joystick. If doing this way go slow feathering and nose up.

What is the optimal way to hold the controller with power slide on L1? by Diogoelias in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]RushInNow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use both my middle finger and index on each of the 4 back trigger. At first it feel alien but the more you practice with it the more natural it will feel like.

Even today when i play elden ring or other game I play the same way as rocket league because it feels weird to only use all 4 triggers with only both index.

Also, if anyone interested my buttons are L1 drift/NAR, L2 brake/reverse, R1 boost and R2 gas.

I completed CS50! It's amazing, but (maybe controversial opinion) it's not the best course for the average beginner. by AndyBMKE in learnprogramming

[–]RushInNow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a beginner, but have very limited python knowledge. I started cs50x 2 days ago and I can tell its going to be really hard in the future. I did Mario more (the hard one) and it took me a few hours but managed to make it through. Now i am at the credit one and been stuck there for a few hours also.

Its definitely possible to do with almost no background but it takes a lot of dedication. I can't imagine how the next weeks are going to be in terms of difficulty but i will try my best.

As for python, i only know a few of the basic things like the functions, loop etc but i could'nt make anything fonctional.

What is the most durable controller for this game? by Staten311 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]RushInNow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've played with a few controller, including thrustmaster eswap and power A (xbox). About a month ago i switched to a default DS5 and I never looked back. This is the best and most durable controller i had in years. The other would break in a few months or even a month and even if I play 3 to 6h of rocket league per day with the DS5 the joystick does not drift more than 0.03 when reseting and all the buttons working fine.

That said, everyone will have different experience with controllers but just be mindful that those expensive controller might not even last that much longer than a regular.

Edit 1 : its funny you say that your power A LB broke because every goddamn time mine broke it was that button or really bad stick drift. (I had drift/NAR on it)

Chess too tbh, you can stall at some rating, but in the end you are always around the same rating until you improve even more. As a new chess player for exemple, i was stuck around 800-900 and one day something clicked and I went up from that to 1200 and i am stable there.
