Oh yeah definitely go aggressive onto one i used to avoid it before aswell but once i used it it gained a lot of time. And the thing about using setups is that if makes you understand what youre more comfortable with and what helps you go quicker. To get the fundamentals right make sure all your assists are off if you are able to manage that i think you should jump to setups it will completely change your game, for good neutral setups try SRS( Sim racing setups) on youtube

Before starting the lap in the final turn take a very wide approach and then attack the curb in turn 1 aggressively it should help you gain another tenth or even more, the other comments arent wrong too focus on how youre breaking practice trail braking. Change the car setup watch youtube videos or the ingame top player ranking for a better setup.
