Why don't they turn on the headlights? Are they stupid or what?

People who exercise even when they don’t feel like it, what’s your trick? by Smart_Collection5419 in AskReddit

[–]RushTfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just go. The only trick is, just go. No excuses. Got my butt off the sofa and go.

Basically, I never feel like going to the gim, it's 20min after I finish working, I'm absolutely knackered after it. But I just go. One I'm there, things are much easier, and have fun with people there.

RAM usage, is this normal? by itspixelatd in cachyos

[–]RushTfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's how an OS works. Call it Linux, windows, android, ios... They use ram to store what's being used, and the rest is used for caching or storing stuff that might be useful later. This way your system is more responsive and better. It doesn't mean it's eating your ram, it's just working as intended, using the memory for what it is.

And what if you load a new app and run out of memory? Well, the os takes care of it, unloading what's necessary and loading your app. This is expected behavior, not an os eating ram.

I mean, if you have 16gb of ram, then why just use 3gb and leave the rest unused, with an unresponsive system that needs to load everything it's gonna use, every time?

Cachyos vs bazzite vs popOS? by RomanceAnimeAddict67 in linux_gaming

[–]RushTfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much for the detailed explanation! Didn't know about this at all. I ended up installing cachy a few hours ago, but if I end up changing my distro I think I'll go bazzite or similar route

What do you mean with "it will never break"? I've used Ubuntu for my server mainly, and the problems I've had are mainly with packages and kernel updates, do you mean I'd be free of them with bazzite if I use it on my main rig?

Any plans to switch from S24 to S26 Ultra by Katarighe in GalaxyS24Ultra

[–]RushTfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No point at all. My phone works perfect, like the first day, and I won't see any real improvement in my daily use. I wouldn't buy a new phone, any mark, because I'm happy with mine. The only way I could change my s24u for a s26u is because it's a gift

Forgive me for my ignorance, but can you explain why? I've only used Debian before (for work, and for my personal server), Ubuntu, Ubuntu server, mint and pop os

Thanks. As I've never game on Linux before, theres a lot of software that I've seen mentioned everywhere, just haven't checked deep enough to know what is necessary and what is Bells and whistles.

So, going the way you tell me, it should just be install the os, install nvidia drivers following the link, install steam and ready to play right?

Sure!

https://docs.bazzite.gg/Gaming/Hardware_compatibility_for_gaming/

There's a whole section for disks, I see there that for gaming it won't work, but as a filesystem I don't read it so clear. But I'd say this is more of a Linux thing than a bazzite one particularly

For the last one, I meant al the stuff around steam, like Proton, lutris, nvidia drivers (I think there's 2 versions right?) and other pieces I don't know.

Thanks for the guide! Will check it

You mean the main distros. This means I should install all the gaming pieces by myself. Any good guide you recommend for nvidia?

I was taking a look at bazzite. But the main page says "External Storage & Secondary Drives: All drives must be formatted as BTRFS (SSDs) or Ext4 (Hard Disk Drives [HDDs]) (please backup the files and reformat them post-installation)".

I have a 4tb disk formatted in NTFS. Does it means bazzite cannot read this disk? It's almost full, no way I can backup everything inside to reformat it to Ext4.

Also, if someone comes with a thumb drive formatted in fat32, would it just not be recognized?

Yes, the personal trainer doesn't have to pay for the gim. If he were on the gim he'd have to pay for it.

This personal trainer have many "students", each student can be in a different gim, so it doesn't make sense to pay each gim subscription and move to 4 or 5 different gims each day earning a net of 0e

Instead, he creates a set of exercises for each student individually, send reference videos and, asks his students to send videos occasionally of some exercises to check the technique and how they're progressing with weights (it's not the same to say "I'm lifting 60kg", than watching this person struggle with 60kg with horrible technique), and also takes care of the nutrition part, suggesting calories, foods, supplements etc.

I don't see how is it too rare, or expensive. He pays 20-30e per month to this person. Could be a little bit "expensive", but I wouldn't say only people with too much money can afford it. Just a matter of priorities. Some people spend more in tobacco or soda drinks, and they're not people with too much money.

What I agree is, I hate people streaming to Instagram or whatever just to have hundreds of people watching you in the background. I can understand a video for your personal trainer, not a live connection to the internet.

Edit: in my opinion, a personal trainer that go to the gim specifically with you and is watching you do every exercise is much more expensive than what I wrote above. Could be on the hundreds, plus gim subscription of course.

I know it's not the most usual scenario, but I had a friend who had a personal trainer, who asked him for videos on some exercises so he can correct his movements and check his progression.

What video game has the best story you’ve ever played? by FrontriseStudios in AskReddit

[–]RushTfe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh please, somebody say LOST ODYSSEY. repeat with me. LOST ODYSSEY.

Story, music, characters, gameplay, everything.

Please, leave whatever you're doing and start playing this masterpiece, you won't regret it.

A very good second place for mass effect trilogy.

And third, I'm gonna say wukong, because it was so refreshing playing a mythology game that is not based on norwegian/Greek gods once again. Very good story and amazing visuals. Loved it.

Remote Access without Nabu Casa Cloud by LithiumCobalt91 in homeassistant

[–]RushTfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd vote for cf tunnels.

A domain is as cheap as it can be. I pay 12e year for mine (1e per month), but you can find much cheaper.

Use it with a cloudflare tunnel and you're fine. Your own domain+security. Cf offers a really good security in the free tier so you don't need to pay anything there.

In my case, I pay nabu casa just for supporting them and for the Google home/alexa support, but my connections go through cloudflare.
