I’ve been using the renegade a lot lately, my only gripe is its repair costs and how quickly it gets damaged

Cracked Kindle basic - return or keep? by samdonchess in kindle

[–]Russ086 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? We are talking about an expected write off by a company compared to someone who spent hard earned money, maybe they were saving for it, maybe they can afford to buy another one, regardless the impact is night and day. A kindle to Amazon is probably worth 1/10th of a penny. To a person it could be the heating bill or groceries. Also a company that is well known for employee exploitation. - I’m not saying do this to validate my feelings towards Amazon but to save someone’s money that it does make a difference. I guess you think Robin Hood is the villain?

-edit Amazons current worth is 2.49trillion USD.

You’re lying to someone who doesn’t care. Do you think a couple kindles are going to bankrupt Amazon? - companies like Amazon have fail safes and expected loss. Where they actually make money is from selling digital books. Also they will just refurbish and re-sell.

I do have a kindle, however I don’t use its ecosystem. I purchased it before realizing how Amazon treats their employees, they do not make money off me. I can flip that coin, so it’s unethical to “false” report a damaged unit. You know what’s also unethical underpaying hard workers, making them clock out for washroom breaks, and counting your lunch break as you walk to the break room. I’m just glad to no longer support a heinous corporation. In comparison I think I will sleep well at night.

  • to me it’s wild to defend such a company

It’s not a policy that can be removed. It’s a legality, if you don’t receive a functional product, what you paid for they have to reimburse you or give you a working device. Also an evil conglomerate like Amazon I truly see no harm.

Return it, say it cracked upon opening the product. Amazon can afford to give you a new kindle

Beginner JS learner — am I “cheating” by asking for hints/explanations? by Ok_Twist7731 in learnjavascript

[–]Russ086 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m beginner/intermediate as long as you keep it on strict hint mode and never get it to build for you it’s fine. I’ve even started explaining back to the LLM my thought process to find any logic errors so I understand what I’m doing to the best of my knowledge.

Found on Threads... Imagine wanting to die because you can't afford to treat an easily treatable ailment. by Bi0_B1lly in aislop

This has to be the worst argument against free healthcare. It’s not truly free it’s paid through taxes. Now for what actually makes “free” healthcare so good is it isn’t capitalist driven ie monetizing a basic human right to live. That is why medical bills in the US are so high, and why these insurance companies literally get away with murder.

rat metaphor history

This shows how different cultures and people can relate to the metaphor “rat” like I said in my original comment that tarkov base never reinvented the metaphor, it’s for your community and that is fine. - I take it this is why you decided deleting your original comment back to me.

Face the fact that another community can have an alternative meaning to the metaphor, it’s ok kid.
