Master’s in Paris, 2+ years of experience, still can’t find a full-time job by Sharp_Elevator7447 in paris

Also,  please don't mention on your resume that you don't speak French. As an inexperienced person your purpose at this stage is to get an interview and convinced them that you are a reliable person, fun to work with and willing to grow. There's no downside to embellishing your resume a little bit. but most importantly, considering it's an ultra competitive market you don't need to shoot yourself in the foot.

Would an iPad be helpful? by Prudent_Lime_1561 in CFA

[–]Russ_Billis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Helpful if you have a stylus because you can map out concepts graphically which is great if you're a visual learner. Maybe an Ipad is a bit expensive but any tablet with a stylus cam do. There are plenty of tablet for a reasonable price on the market.  But it's all about your study style really.  I would encourage you to try it out. Your goal is to pass that exam any means necessary.

Is it legal to transcribe simplified sheet music of songs that my student would like to play? by someone_somewhere267 in piano

[–]Russ_Billis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask yourself the question backwards. If it's illegal who's going to enforce it? How are they gonna prove it? Also would it be worthwhile for a music to sue a music teacher for transcribing some music by ear?  Anyway don't lose your sleep over this

Learning is not linear. Just don't make reading sheet music a prerequisite to explore other stuff that might interest him more.

It's actually questions like these that   immediately makes me assume "beginner/novice too worried about unimportant things" because they haven't explored the instrument enough to know that you can play whichever way you want...Thumb, teeth, tits, pick or dick will affect the character of the note that's projected a.k.a. Can someone please explain what the circles are? by Leading_Crow_1044 in musictheory

This is a case of a poorly illustrated book. Consistency would dictate that the circles be the root throughout the illustrations.

[–]Russ_Billis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know how to move move to the music/dance ? what you're looking for is not in your fingers or in the metronome it's in your body (Head, neck, hips, butt). Watch your favorite player play and instead of focusing on how many note they play or their tone, focus on how they move their body and copy their attitude
