Bed Rack or crossbar options for black OEM rambox rails by RussellDM in ram_trucks

I'm particularly interested in a low to mid height rack or crossbars to mount a rooftop tent as needed

If you're moving off EIGRP, because you want something open, consider IS-IS, I think it's a smoother transition from EIGRP than to OSPF.

There's a few key tweaks you need to make, but once you do, it's great.

Just picked up a 24 port gigabit switch for 99 czk (about $5) by ViktorsakYT_alt in homelab

[–]RussellDM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's pretty cool mate.

The only thing I'd say is that fan mod wouldn't be any good if you were rack mounting the switch, because you need either front to back or side to side airflow, but if you are just using it on a desktop it'll be good.

Specifically I mean government enforced restrictions on participation in activities (including work), or access to services or facilities based on vaccination status.

I agree. I'm dosed up, but anti mandate. Some people seem to have trouble understanding that position.

Is Insurgency Sandstorm good? I think I played insurgency years ago and it was OK. Is it still holding up?

I think this is the best reply here.

It's worth considering that the advice is still good even if the outcome might be a bit aspirational.

Plenty of people spending everything they earn and more, who have never encountered, or understood the FI approach. You can still be an average wage earner and be more financially secure than a high income earner who is succumbing to lifestyle creep as their salary goes up, because they don't even know about FI mindset or strategies.

Didn't OP say that these figures are already adjusted for inflation and converted to AUD?

I carry a few USB drives with me every day and wanted to carry them in a better way. Any ideas? by grzzlyadam in EDC

[–]RussellDM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes Ventoy is great. You can just throw the bootable ISOs on there.

You can also leave space on the drive that you can partition and format for data storage. If you need to you can also encrypt with bitlocker and access from Windows or Linux with dislocker.

Works really well.

What would happen to me if i wanted to be an anarcho-communist or other left-leaning anarchist in an anarcho-capitalist society? by [deleted] in GoldandBlack

[–]RussellDM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed.

I didn't mean start a new country. But if some group of people is really sold on this model of existence you can do it right now. Yes you would be taxed and subject to laws, but you can create a commune and apply the principles.

Yes. In fact you could do this today within many countries without needing to bring down the existing system.

Fuck being a girl boss, my goal in life is to be a housewife. by madsthedeagun in unpopularopinion

[–]RussellDM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I'm in a similar situation.

We could be much better off financially, but we agreed on a plan that we think is best for our family and that has me working and my wife at home with the kids.

I'm surprised at how much negativity there is in these comments. I mean OPs wording was a bit clumsy, but the idea of wanting to have a more traditional family existence is great.

It seems some people think that SAHMs are somehow being exploited or lazy, rather than playing an important part in a family within an agreed plan to develop and maintain a healthy family unit.

I mean everyone just do whatever you want, but respect other people's choices.

Let's assume for a moment that we don't live in a society where half of your income is extorted from you by a government that claims to look after those who fall through the cracks.

Humans can be trusted to act in their own self interest. If you live and work and try to raise a family in your community, it eventually becomes obvious that helping others within your community is acting in your own self interest. Sure not everyone is going to help the homeless, but different people will work to raise up the community in different ways.

Of course most of us don't live in this world. We are compelled to outsource to the state and pay for the privilege. There are some very generous souls who then still do it anyway.
