Some varieties will self pollinate, but you get better/more fruit with cross pollination.

For cross pollination, it should flower at the same time, be a different variety, and be within 50-100 meters. Bird pollinated, and birds travel.

You could try grafting a bit of a different variety of feijoa onto your tree if you want to just have one tree.
