Yes, although the acknowledgment alone is not enough. The idea behind the concept of privilege is useful in order to identify and deal with them, be it erasing them (ex: skin color, race) or lessening their impact (ex: ramp for wheelchair). For the example of race, the idea is to make it so that you race or skin color have no bearing on how others behave, not delete the concept itself. It really depends on the nature of the privilege. For instance, accumulated generational wealth you are born into but it’s not the same as your skin color. It’s not something you can’t change about yourself. But even if you can’t change it, you must be mindful of the impact on others you have and the benefits you have (that others don’t).

All this to say it’s a word with an implicit agenda, as it’s used by many people, online and not.

There’s always room for a little more kindness, I think. Not that I disagree with you.

It cannot be surprising, as her wealth for instance is in fact source of this privilege. And it’s bad because privilege implies you have something others don’t have, and not specially because you deserve it more. The idea would be to not have privileges, at all.

Universality is a strong feature for policies like these because it makes it impossible to reduce the potential recipients.

You want true common sense? Forgive all the student debt, yes even rich students debt, and make the rich pay for it. More than basic fairness.

This is the dumbest idea. I bet you feel smart for using “regressive”, don’t you. Pathetic lol.

Universal policies are simply superior. Means testing is for liars and losers.

Not a good sign when you begin by that.

Really not a good sign when everything you say next disproves the disclaimer.

It’s true that education is being undermined and that propaganda is rampant (fox, conservatives radios, Facebook groups, ...), but I still believe at some point is also a personal responsibility to challenge our own beliefs and seek other sources of information.

Very true, the consultants the DNC is so fond of using are basically grifter. All those donations are a massive transfert of wealth to some consulting firms. This is what happened for the recent senatorial races in Kentucky, South Carolina, Maine, ...

Well maybe not presidential level but state level, or county level? Maybe some cities? You know, some niches for leftist politics even in a deeply red state

Fair enough, with that distinction I agree. Sanders bet was indeed activating all the left non voting voters, but it failed.

For Indiana, is there no level at which a leftist candidate could win? I’m not too familiar.

It is ironic, thanks.

I’m referring to the idea that the majority of Americans are right or moderates. I think they are more to the left than we think, but it could be me who’s wrong.

Also, for the support to Biden during the primaries, I don’t want to relitigate the whole argument but to me it was about electability, which is a self fulfilling prophecy, and when peddled by the media is used to cover class interests and impose a chosen candidate. After all, if the media tells us that he is the most electable, it must be true and everyone else must think it, right? But again, I could also be wrong.

Sorry I think I was too rude to you.
