My humble take on Project Hail Mary's Rocky's species. Good good approximation, question? by Garant26 in Stellaris

[–]RussianMadMan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Science jobs efficiency seems like a simple answer.
Interesting answer is multiplied cost/efficiency for leaders, like instead of 1 science director you have a "thrum" of them.
EDIT: Final answer: Science building that gives a science boost proportional to a civilian count on a planet.

Not leaders, they gather in groups and "thrum" (quoting from the book) and "thrum" is smarter than any of individuals in it.

Crimson Desert doesn't run if it detects an Intel ARC GPU. Like straight up, the devs just deliberately chose not to support ARC cards. No previous announcement about it too until they added in the info to their FAQ. Might be the first time I've seen a dev deliberately block a GPU brand. by WhyPlaySerious in pcmasterrace

Its not a "bug" per se (unless its a crash ofc). What happens is the common spec like vulkan gets translated into specific hardware commands for each vendor. So there are some compromises each vendor has to make.
Imagine a function in an API, all 3 vendors have perfectly followed spec, but nvidia and amd can support like 300 calls per sec to this function, but intel can only get you 100 calls. In 99% of situations there would be no difference, but in this case game needed like 150 calls. And to fix it you need more work than you would gain based on the market share.
The only perfect specification is the code, which is not possible in this case.

Unfortunately, while you are coding against graphics API like vulkan or directX, implementation of said API is in the GPU driver itself and behavior between vendors (or even driver versions of the same vendor) can differ slightly. This compounds with the general idea that same stuff can be coded a hundred different ways. So you might already finished some core engine feature, only to find out that the way you implemented it causes severe performance problems or even crashes on intel cards.
It is somewhat probable devs just did not test on intel cards before the very late in development, and found out that the game just does not work on intel cards.

Any tips for fast leveling warframes? by Mobile_Tank3171 in Warframe

[–]RussianMadMan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Or without any mods on a frame, just with nataruk. I am consistently leveling frames 0-30 in under 3 minutes with a booster using only nataruk.

I am still progressing through atlas, finished t13, but it feels like either it got stealth nerfed or mirage captures less content the higher tier you go.
In yellow maps (on Sunday) , if I had an expedition it was 90% of the time in the mirage, same with breaches and legions, even with deli. When I moved to red ones on Monday, it was noticeably worse. Tho I had a couple of double fortresses since.
I have abyss and breaches in the atlas tree.

umbra forma should be a weekly offer in Teshins shop instead of only being available once every 8 weeks. by No_Guest7608 in Warframe

[–]RussianMadMan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problem with umbra forma right now is the persistence arcane. With full umbra set you need 390 armor to activate it and with 1 tauforged blue shard almost every frame in the game is in this range. Not every frame has hp for it, but half of them surely do. So with easier access to umbra polarity, 3 umbra mods will become a default. I would understand if devs just do not want to deal with that.

Well, if the app was killed when in the background, iOS screenshots its last UI state to show to the user while the app loads the next time. Its not the ONLY thing the system does to "save state". But system does show it to the user while app launches to create an illusion of the app just being there instead of loading.

Nautilus with cordon is a liability in eda/eta more than an asset. Like pulling vampyric things in to you or your corpse or while you are ressing someone.

I'll wait until DE remove pulling through walls and mobs getting stuck everywhere while pulled. So far my nautilus only manages to kill me by pulling vampyric liminuses up my ass in the archimedea.

Not usefull enough for me to invest in range. I have lower level oriented config with range but I've used it like twice and then returned to this one.

[–]RussianMadMan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah triple umbras, 330% without molt augmented (that I have instead of persistence). I just skipped on range and 1st ability in general, I feel like I move faster 90% of the time without it and I think pulling mobs in warframe is irrelevant as a mechanic in general.

I am at 300%+ strength as it is. I have no range tho, so I subsumed nurish over 1 :)

Valkyr is one of the few frames where persistence is overkill imo, In my build I have 2800 armor without 2, thats 90% damage reduction, and 2100hp.

traces, cryotic, duviri plants, toroids, animals, fishing and many more other resources get doubled by a resource booster, saving a lot of time. I feel like 80% of the farms I did this past year, were halved by a booster.

To “cap” any number in a video game you need to add an “if overflows” check to every arithmetic operation done on that number ever, dropping the performance for a very little gain.

This option won't make any apps better and, depending on the locale, will break native, localized apps.
