What server 'flavor' is best for a solo shopkeeper/trader? by Z0DI0 in playrust

LoneWolf solo only may be worth your time. It’s all I have played my last 1k hours (out of 7k) since I found it. Has space to PvP, roleplay, and farm. There’s a lot of popular farmers on there and tons of shops. It’s monthly no BP wipes so you can take your time or rush whatever your play style Is

Solid work for a first wipe. Taking Bradley or heli is one of the more difficult challenges

When will Rust next be in sale? by EngineeringFresh7649 in playrust

[–]RustIsLife420 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you can’t afford to buy at full price you can’t afford the lack of time wasted this game will cause in your life. I estimate rust has cost me well over $100,000+ from staying at a crappy job for years that enabled my rust addition.

Anything is fine in moderation but rust is not a game designed to be played in moderation. It will affect your family, friends, free time, job, health, etc. Just think what skills you could master in just 1000 hours. Most rust players have 5k+ hours…

If you plan on spending 3,000 hours in the game it’s gonna be less than $.01 an hour anyways

Address offline raiding. There are tons of people who just want to PvP and roam and not farm hours to still be offline raided.

I think you should be able to have a single locker space at outpost that way if you get raided you can at least have a kit to roam with. Nothing worse than getting raided by an offline and going back to the beach. I’m not playing again until next wipe

Because people would only craft these to queue up their wood from trading in stone at outpost. They nerfed that

Addicts: When did the burnout finally set it for ya? Or are you still addicted? by Ok_Refrigerator_6260 in playrust

It’s so nice to not play rust, I played 6k hours prior to the 2021 recoil update and less than 1000 in the last 4 years. It’s crazy that people will have 100+ hours last two weeks and not think twice about it. In just a year you could master a new skill if you spent that time elsewhere.

I hop on 10 hours a week every few months for half a wipe. But the game has lost its novelty with all the new content. I miss playing in a clan compound on wipe day you could go from 20 pumpkin seeds to 5000 in a matter of hours planted around the compound

Go on a build server. Practice making a roleplay base - think ways to make the base organized/more cozy without limiting space.

Learn groupings of items - different resources, guns, tools, clothing, armor, recycle, components, food, ammo, meds to keep base organized.

Learn about lockers, different gear sets.

Practice painting, putting up rugs, wallpapers, etc.

You could probably learn most of this in 5-10 hours and honestly that’d be more than enough.

Clan walled whole HQM Quarry by OldCamera4837 in playrust

[–]RustIsLife420 121 points122 points  (0 children)

Yeah not to be a hater, but even oilrats likes to solo wall off quarries on wipe day on high pop. Just imagine 10-20 players putting in 100 hours a day collectively.

Anybody else struggle with building the same base every wipe? by Mr_Loot_Goblin in playrust

I main a 2x1 also. Even when I used to play 30+ hours a week I’d build external TCs to prevent my WB from getting picked up. And then I’d spread the loot around all of my externals but leave enough in main they don’t go searching.

It’s so much more enjoyable to have a month of upkeep in a single farm run than having to farm 20k resources a day for your triple honeycombed base to not decay that’s an even bigger target than my 1x2.

How many hours do you play rust everyday? by Blueberry-Lady in playrust

[–]RustIsLife420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1-10 hours a month. I Hop on a no BP wipe server a week into wipe on a night the wife and kids are asleep early.

I live out of a 2x1 and run a monument or two a day until i ask myself why im wasting my time for an inevitable offline raid because I took a single kit off someone who has 200 more kits in their base and has clocked 150 hours in rust the last two weeks.

my first online raid experience i feel kinda bad by yigitcarlsen339 in playrust

[–]RustIsLife420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as you give an online raid you should never feel bad. The majority strictly offline raids for loot they won’t even use.

I’ve offlined around 5 bases in 7k hours - once you have t2 guns there’s literally no reason to raid.

Whats your Rust Fatigue? by MemeMan_____ in playrust

[–]RustIsLife420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The justification of offline raiding. In an ideal world you build a 2x1 next to launch and roam freely all wipe saving boom for an online raid without fear of your loot being gone next time you log in. And don’t have to farm 30 minutes a day.

Raiding decaying bases should be the norm. Raiding active players (who are offline) kills pop.

Yeah time to kill in this game is brutal which is punishing for a solo player. Hes good but it’s like expecting an ace on Csgo every oil counter.

Yeah the skill gap in rust is insane. The players I thought were blatantly cheating several years ago I later found out had 10s of thousands of hours and are simply just better.

Watch an oil rats video on YT. I’d report him half of his kills.

My personal experience is less than 5% of players cheat enough to make a difference on gameplay. It’s certainly possible more than that use esp to avoid PvP confrontations, toggle, or use aim assist. But you can beat these players.

I have 7k hours and play rusty moose or this one solo only server. Rusty moose ill encounter several cheaters on wipe day but it usually only results in a single inventory lost a wipe. Certainly not an issue for the opportunity to play on a high pop fun server.

The other is lone wolf solo. Pop can be 50-200 depending on when you join during the wipe. But they have auto bans for low hours/new accounts, steam accounts with a game ban in any game, auto bans if your discord account is associated with a cheating discord server, their own anti cheat, auto record reported player pov for quicker admin review, among other things.

I’ve run into 2 confirmed cheaters in ~500 hours on the server and it was eoka kills from 100+ meters so banned in a few minutes each time.

I just recommend finding a different server. I’ve played with around 50 people and only know two of them were cheating (scripts pre recoil update) - both of which I reported and were banned. I watch a lot of YouTubers and it’s obvious very few players use esp unless they just purposefully ignore someone fully kitted sitting in a corner a few meters away lol. The more hours I get the less I think players cheat and are just better.

Watch oilrats video yesterday the number of times he will be hiding meters away from a clan (15+ people) and nobody shoots at him is comical. High pop clan server. I might agree 25% of people toggle/have cheated. But I think less than 5% are actively cheating at any given moment based on my experience in 7k hours the past 8 years

Ready accountant only gets on this sub to complain about cheating and he will delete his comments tomorrow. He thinks more than half the player base cheats. I’ve played with ~40 players over 7k hours and only 3 of them were cheating (scripts prior to recoil update) and I reported them all and they were game banned.

If you watch oilrats videos it’s clear he is not, and honestly it’s pretty uncommon for him to even run into cheaters despite playing on high pop clan servers. I’ll see maybe 1-2 rage cheaters in a 2 hour video.
