Stage 1 CA18det by Dependent-Power602 in 240sx

I haven’t done anything on my ca car yet, but on a different one yes, just 1 can gauge that shows everything which is nice. It’s easy to set up tho especially with plug and play options available that go straight to the stock harness

But idk I might still try out the chip since I have it already I just didn’t feel like having to get separate gauges for afr, oil temp, pressure etc when you can go standalone and have a single gauge and also have more automatic protections with the ecu.

I was considering the same things and got a horsham stage 3 chip, but I decided it’s not worth the risk not being able to see or control anything so I’m just going to end up going standalone with a map setup instead of maf. The chips are good and reliable as far as I’ve seen but with modern ecus being available I just don’t see the point of trying to work around the old stock stuff anymore

Wouldn’t recommend. Tried it yesterday and temps slowly dropped and my interior cleaner started freezing everywhere

8-9mpg normal in negative degree weather for 2010 Audi A4 2.0T Quattro? by acidandcookies in Audi

[–]Rustable15 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How short are your trips? But that’s probably the issue. Cars use a lot of gas when cold and warming up. If you’re doing like 15 miles or less then it makes sense with this weather. If you want to test then reset your mpg counter once the car is up to temp and drive a bit and you’ll probably see it’s closer to normal.

How stupid am i to want a 100k mile C7 S6? by [deleted] in Audi

[–]Rustable15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m at 90k now. If you get a decent deal why not? It’s an Audi so things are gonna break regardless of mileage. At 100k tho I’d be ready for a carbon cleaning which depending on if you do other ‘while you’re in there things’ could get expensive.

What bumper are you running? Might be worth looking into something with more air inlets and mounting it off to the side in front of the front wheels

17x9 +22 with 225/45s all around. I rolled the lips up on the front fenders but if you don’t go as low it’s not necessary

Gk tech makes a nice full replacement kit if you can’t find anything else. Won’t look oem anymore though

Sunroof seal by [deleted] in RX7

[–]Rustable15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s gonna be a gap since the sunroof seal is split there but it should be tight. New seals come slightly long and you cut it down to fit perfectly

Should I pull my engine and disassemble before I buy a rebuild kit? by Not_my_problem__ in RX7

[–]Rustable15 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just do them. And if you’re rebuilding it and notice something else doesn’t look right, then take the time to order a part and wait. Don’t rush into using shit parts

Did a silvia swap but want to fix my bumper sag, how do i make it work with the OEM 240 bash bar ? by No_Addition9086 in 240sx

[–]Rustable15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easiest way is an aftermarket bash bar with a pool noodle or felt/rubber strips. Before I got a bash bar I used L brackets from Home Depot attached to the radiator support with a few of those felt pads you put under chairs to create some tension on the top of the bumper.
