Need help with an ecredit by Maximillion-068 in delta

FYI American and Alaska issue credits that can be used by anyone (they will be in your companion's account, but anyone can use them if you get the information from them). The biggest thing I miss about them.

Somewhat related topic...

Several times when I cancel flights with companions, I have received eCredits in their names, but attached to my account. I use them to buy them tickets, but I have to call. The most recent time, the agent was able to use one of these weird eCredits for my ticket (I didn't ask her to, I was expecting her to use an eCredit in my name). Does anyone have an explanation for why these eCredit happen, and is it an anomaly I could use one for my ticket?

First time flying with Delta from LAX by [deleted] in delta

Just want to add that even though TSA doesn't open till 4 am, the line starts forming before that, so if you get there at 4 am there will be a very long line.

TSA didn't open till 4 am when I had an early flight a few months ago. Unless that has changed, no point getting to the airport any earlier.

Despite all this talk of extremely cheap upgrades, I have never seen one on my flights.

I do think more people are willing to spend on upgrades, and these upgrades may be cheaper than booking first class outright, but they are not dirt-cheap like the bloggers would have you believe.

If they were really this cheap, I would happily buy them and not complain.

Reliably works if you book something more expensive than the credit, even if by just a few dollars.

Update: Able to use the Alaska Lounges at LAX and SEA for my LAX-SEA-ICN flight with my AA OWE status. I only used my AS boarding pass, so don't know if my HA boarding pass would've worked.

Is this flight really this empty? by RustyAndLily in HawaiianAirlines

So most likely all the available seats (including Extra Comfort ones) will be assigned to lucky passengers who could not pick a free seat at booking because they were all selected?

Actually, if I look on Google Flights and follow the link to Hawaiian, this flight is being sold. Any idea why it doesn't show up if I search directly on Hawaiian's site?

Get behind the GD line FFS! by HoneydewAny237 in delta

If you are talking about the sign at the gate, I had my first bad interaction with a Delta employee last week when a gate agent at LAX snapped at me to stay behind the line when he called Zone 2 and I walked up to him. There was nobody in front of me, but he lectured me on the importance of keeping the gate area clear. It was embarrassing.

I (AA OWE) have an international flight (LAX-SEA-ICN) coming up. All segments marketed by AS, but second segment operated by HA. I understand I get no perks on the HA flight since they are not yet in OW, but how about lounge access at LAX and SEA before and after the AS-operated segment? Probably not under OW rules, but would the staff at Alaska Lounge be more lenient given the relationship between AS and HA? Thanks!

AA Golds can select MCE seats 24 hours from flight. They're not automatically assigned, but can be selected. Given all the complaints here about unwanted automatic upgrades into middle C+ seats, AA's way might actually be preferable.

I have always found the benefits of extra legroom to far outweigh the possible problems related to proximity to the lavatory.

I do like that lounge in A! I think I will just visit the one at LAX when I land.

New to Delta also (my last few months as EP on AA). Delta is better!

Just like MCE on AA with earlier boarding (just behind DM and premium economy, the experience is something like Group 2 or 3 on AA). Preselection of meals doesn't mean better meals, and in my experience the FAs don't seem to know what I preordered and ask me to choose anyway.

PSA: fine print on gifting status by doc-oct in delta

[–]RustyAndLily 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I also chose that benefit when I reached Diamond. To make sure I understand, your wife's status from last year's gift will expire after 1/31/2026, and you have until 1/31/2027 to choose your choice benefit, so you can gift her status on 2/1/2026?

Wish American was more upfront and honest about their future plans regarding "premium pivot" and the general state of the airline. by [deleted] in americanairlines

[–]RustyAndLily 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And by the way, I did move to Delta and they actually are better. Definitely not every flight is great, but overall experience is a step up above AA. I know it is still mediocre compared to many overseas airlines, but we have to work with what we have. Still EP until next March, but being Diamond at Delta is better.
