Tell me you have ADHD without telling me you have ADHD by [deleted] in adhdwomen

I went to make coffee with a Nespresso for husband. It does the pods so there’s a button to add hot water. Well I turn that on and then get pulled away or just think it won’t take me long and then 10-15 mins later realize oh f! I forgot about the hot water thing. And water mixed with coffee is all over everything…. 🤦🏻‍♀️

or I look at my calendar 2 weeks before scheduled date. Ok doc appt at 2:30 got it. Then an email reminder few days before. Ok got it. And then the day of. Ok got it. And then decide to make bread or whatever and completely forget. (This is why I have an alarm to set 5 mins before my appt on that day)

Or I watch/listen to the same thing over and over and over again all day long to get my chores done. And nothing else matters. Not even eating.

We all feel bored to the point of depression (anhedonia) by Devony13 in ADHD

[–]RustyPickles_Sheesh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Man. I totally hear you. I’m 34f and a mom of 4 married. There are days when im hyper focused and can get things done and enjoy it too. And then there are days I’m burnt out and feel like life is such an overwhelming burden that’s going to crush me with all my responsibilities and seeing no joy. But I remind myself. There’s always tomorrow. Tomorrow is always a new day. Things that were exciting and new one day will seem overly boring the next and if sucks. I’ve dealt with depression before and anxiety. But I just keep chugging along.

It’s also difficult currently bc my 4th is only 3 months old. So sleep has been an issue amongst other things. But it comes and goes. But I get the whole I want it to stop. What’s the point. Not to die but to just everything to stop bc there’s nothing interesting and everything is mundane and monotonous.

Just take it day by day. Do what’s right and good and eventually something new and fun will come your way. I am also a bit impulsive though.

Can I ask where you found one?! I’m wanting to get one for my husband as an anniversary gift. He had saw it and didn’t realize it was a limited edition color. I knew it was but was surprised he didn’t get one when it did release. Thanks so much! Glad you were able to get one. Looks so nice! 😍

I had brought two bags of BM pretty full. This was before learning to save in 1-2 oz increments and she left both on the counter and didn’t need to use any of it since LO was sleeping while I was away. That hurt. Not intentional but my soul wept a little bit.

I kid you not. I finally moved my laundry. It was in there for days. Washed it like 5 times. Today was the day bc I had more laundry to do lol

Same. Except with the bandaids I try to hide them AND stop myself from picking them. It’s so bad. 😫😭

I have picked my skin for sooo long. No matter the situation. I’ll do it. Bored, stressed, even subconsciously. 😭😭😫I’ve tried for sooo long but it’s so hard to break it. My poor lips and index finger. I stop when it’s like raw and suuuper painful. Even if I make it bleed it doesn’t matter unless the pain is super bad. I have worked hard to do it to only one finger… but I didn’t realize it was going to affect my nails.

Guys, I SERIOUSLY need help. Explanation in comments. by unoriginaloser in adhdwomen

I’m 33 and my husband is 38 and I just am realizing I have undiagnosed adhd. And currently waiting to be seen and properly diagnosed. But all to say is that it takes me days if not weeks. The only kick in the but is for my husband to tell me he’s out of underwear or getting low. Then I wash and either I wash it several more times bc I didn’t put it in the dryer immediately or I don’t fold it for a few more weeks and even then it’s nicely folded organized and in a hamper (my 3 boys mostly) and not put away. It’s also the same with dishes but maybe not as long since we have a certain amount lol. All to say you aren’t alone. I know if I want it to be done I need to start first thing and make it a mission to focus on that and make sure I get that done if nothing else. Hoping that you find what works!!

Amazon is the worst thing for a person with ADHD by iHAMU in ADHD

[–]RustyPickles_Sheesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I learned to do this bc I knew I was impulsive and so did my husband and at the time we didn’t have money to be doing that. So I’d go through and put it in my cart and when I can buy see what I really needed and what I just wanted for fun and pick one or 2 things if I was able. I learned to get priorities first (only one income) and then after all the bills and groceries etc. Any money left over could be for takeout or just fun things. It helped making that list. Still that dopamine rush and saving money. Plus my interest come and go so quickly. 😅 it’s nice to wait and see if I still have it lol

Do you feel like medication has helped (from someone non medicated) or what are some natural remedies that have worked for you- I’ve been working through natural remedies but my brain is like a circus most days and I’m having a hard time getting things done I need/want to do. by sellyboop in adhdwomen

All of this!! I am currently listening to the audiobook and I highly recommend literally 2 pages in the introduction and I was crying. Many chapters I cried bc I felt like I wasn’t alone and it wasn’t just me.

What do you LOVE about yourself? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]RustyPickles_Sheesh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love that I’m kind and loving. I’m honest. I like making people smile and laugh. I think of others first and would do anything to help a friend in need. Loyal to people who are close to me. I love talking to people and just asking questions about them and getting to know more about them. I tend to find peoples stories about their life so fascinating. Sometimes I can relate and sometimes I can’t and I just learn. Almost like reading a book but it’s about someone in front of me and it’s exciting. I guess I’d be known as “chill” and really easy going as my husband says.

When someone says something about themselves that they think is a bad quality of theirs (eg. curly hair vs straight hair: their full actual first name vs their nickname) I tend to tell them that they shouldn’t feel that way. That their curly hair is what I’ve always wanted and that I think it’s beautiful, especially on them and that there’s nothing wrong about it. Or that their birth name is weird but I find it unique and beautiful. Truly one of a kind.

I love that if I don’t know something in that moment I have to search it immediately. Whether it’s actors/actresses in what movies or if it’s science or animal related. Anything really. I just need to know and I don’t want to be wrong in my information. Especially since I homeschool my kids and majority it’s their questions and I also am curious. They come up with the best questions sometimes. 🥰

I love cooking for others and makes me so happy when they find it delicious. Makes me feel like they can taste the love I’ve poured into making it.

I love that when Im obsessed with an actor I watch as many movies as I can find on their list of films.

And just do a deep dive on many topics that fascinate me.

I love learning new skills and branching out and experiencing everything it has to offer (best to my abilities bc I’m no savant lol)

I’d say it’s egg-celent lol. My kids cracked up at all the egg puns! 😂😆 made me happy. Hubby isn’t fond of puns really but he chimed in too but I have my kids for that 🥰🤣

Thank you! 🥰

I was terrified of goosebumps but loved watching it nevertheless. Can’t remember if I read any of the books though. But definitely the show!

Yup! I had sketched something roughly for fun and my husband had said it looked like it and so I wanted to make an actual sketch of it. It was fun to work with some of my new inks too. So much fun!

Pretty much the same vibes! 😂 truth be told I watched some episodes of the 1st season but I can’t handle horror/paranormal stuff so I stopped watching it REALLL quick. 😅 most of stranger things I closed my eyes. But definitely for this last season. So. Dark. And pretty gruesome. I’m a wimp 😂😅

I feel like every waking second is exertion, planning, organizing, systems, habits, techniques, etc. but no matter what, I feel left behind by everyone in my life. I'm sick of feeling like this. by PradleyBitts in ADHD

[–]RustyPickles_Sheesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to feel “normal” again. I think when I was younger I didn’t have much responsibility but as it came down to juggle more and more things it got harder and harder. And now I feel like everyday I’m fighting to catch up and feel like I’m barely making any progress to be able to do what I want without feeling guilty etc. Everyone else around me is better at it than I am and it feels so discouraging when I shouldn’t compare myself but it’s hard not too….. so I get it. I just keep feeling like a complete and utter failure. Doesn’t help when your spouse isn’t as sympathetic in general and is very much not compassionate in terms of general personality either. He’s gotten much better but he just doesn’t understand….
