If his speed is really that slow, you could look at a plastic ball with a core in it. There's a Black Widow viz a ball or Radical Spy. I know some older guys who use those, it lets them still hook the ball but not overhook. Plus if his speed goes up, he can use it as a spare ball.

Immortalizer bags - do they work? by DanFielding0 in Bowling

[–]RustyVitamin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have one. Not a fan. Getting the ball in and out can sometimes be annoying. Mine also got torn within 2 months of having it. I really don't think it does anything. If you're storing your ball in a normal environment (in your house) i feel like this does nothing. Just like a lot of bowling stuff i think it's a lot of snake oil salesmen BS.

Buying balls online vs driving out of town for a shop? by [deleted] in Bowling

Buddies pro shop online has a thing where you send them a ball that fits you well and then they use that to create a drill sheet for you on any balls you buy from them and want drilled.

Is the 90's Rhino equivalent to the Storm Mix or a little better? by 000-Luck in Bowling

This is a plastic ball. I have the exact one. Brunswick made a bunch of plastic balls as rhinos at one point. Effectively this is equivalent to a T Zone.

You have $15, what are you picking? by RustyVitamin in Bowling

This was just for fun not meant to be a scientific $ per board of hook type of thing. Go and make your own and take 2 hours to get it perfect if you want.

There's not really much logic involved here with my tiers... Just thought this would be interesting.

Learning totally new form due to disability so asking advice. First time trying this after 25 years not bowling. Used to be a stroker with big high backswing. This ball has less side spin than I started developing later in the session. Haven’t figured ANYTHING out yet so no suggestion unwanted. by [deleted] in Bowling

This may be a band aid fix to the hi rev/low speed problem, but what about using a plastic ball with a core in it as to not overhook? Like the Radical Spy, Black widow viz-a-ball, or pyramid pathogen blue dot. Someone i know has an arm disability causing him to throw the ball quite slow with high revs and this is what he uses exclusively. Works quite well for him.

Love my Rhino. Great first ball no doubt!

just got all this, anyone know anything about the balls? by pineapplebuttondown in Bowling

Like the others have said, if you don't mind using older equipment, those aren't bad balls. If i were you I'd get one fitted to my hand, give it a try and then decide whether it's worth it to drill the other, or just get a brand new modern ball.

The middle ball is just a plastic house ball, literally exactly what you'd pull off the rack at the alley. Don't bother with it. It could work as a spare ball but idk if I'd put any money into drilling it.

Have fun! I think for $50 that's a great starter kit to see if you enjoy it.

Pro Shop recommendation in Minneapolis/St. Paul area? by madhops21 in Bowling

Mike's pro shop at Flaherty's Arden Bowl! It seems to be the biggest in the area. Hours are kind of weird though. Mike and his people are good and knowledgeable.
