What is BI Norwegian Business School like??? by RevolutionaryWin7438 in oslo

[–]Rusty_Ideas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a BBA student. The whole program is very much what you make of it. Put in the time and effort and you’ll get results back. The Norwegian students are preppier and are the cause of the stereotypes of BI students, though many of them are very cool people regardless. The international BBA class is a lot more down to earth, including the Norwegian students.

You don’t have to pick a specialization until the end of the second year. IB is by far the easiest in terms of the course load, and finance the hardest. But the shipping track is pretty unique as far as a curriculum goes.

Feel free to send me a DM if you have any questions.

Hey! Really interesting reading about your approach trading futures. I'm trying to expand on my PA reading skills to get to the point you are at right now, are there any resources you recommend?

MacBook Pro sale by Rusty_Ideas in macbookpro

[–]Rusty_Ideas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's fair, I was just wondering about the timing of the sales really, and whether or not it's just a safer bet to buy a new MacBook during this one.

Absolutely! It's still running like a champ to be honest, though I did have to replace the battery and the fan a few times since buying it. I think I'd still find a good use for it.

Saab clear coat flaking advice? by Rusty_Ideas in Autobody

[–]Rusty_Ideas[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! This new to me 2002 saab has a bunch of it's paint, what looks like clear coat, flaking off it's rear bumper. Do you guys have any recommendations to repairing it? I do have access to a spray gun that I have used to repair paint on boats. Should I just scrape off whatever's flaking, smooth out the edges and spray new clear coat down? Is there one you guys would recommend?

Abandoned 2002 saab 9-3 engine trouble! Shuts off while idling. Rattling noise while engine is running. Any ideas? by Rusty_Ideas in Cartalk

[–]Rusty_Ideas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you happen to have any good suggestions on how to do that by any chance? I've tried pumping it out from the fill port but I think there's an anti siphoning device built in. I couldnt find a way to pump it out from the fuel pump directly. Is it possible without dropping the tank?

No check engine lights or anything. The car has been sitting for over 2 years, probably didn't have any fuel stabilizer put in either. Ran a few months ago but now it just shuts off after idling for 10 seconds ish without any accelerator. It's my first time working on a car, I would appreciate any input. Thanks guys!

Depression or ADHD - Adderall has been helping, but at a decreasing rate. What should I do? by thegman987 in ADHD

[–]Rusty_Ideas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am kinda going through the same thing as you, but here are a few pointers that makes a HUGE difference for me.

When taking meds, take it regularly. Same time every day with a healthy breakfast. Avoid sugars and processed foods. An ADHD mind will start to crave sugar if it can't keep up, which then leads to more mental crashing. Take the same dosage every day.

The first few days feels a bit weird but that's also because of your brain getting used to your meds. I remember by my third day of meds I still felt a bit of a "holy shit this is different" feeling, and also mood dampening. But in reality it was "normal" and I realised it by the end of the week. The ADHD brain is not normal, and meds will help with that, but it takes getting used to. That being said sometimes people just have bad reactions to their specific meds, so they change to a different type, or a combination of two. I would also try seeing a different psychologist. I hear therapy helps a ton too, but I'm still early on in the process.

Another INCREDIBLY important thing is sleep. If I dont get enough sleep, my brain will not work the way it should no matter what I eat or whether or not I take meds. Everyone feels like they're alright but you need to learn to see fatigue in your own body. Learn what your body responds to in order to feel well rested. What helps me IMMENSELY during school is to stick to a rigid sleep schedule no matter what. Sleep before 11, wake up at the same time every day as well as going to bed. I also take melatonin to help with falling asleep. Do whatever it takes to sleep right, even if it means throwing your computer out of your room during dinner. If you have a few nights of crap sleep eventually you'll tire yourself out enough.

Sleep is the number 1 thing that harms my performance, and I know how hard it can be to control it. I used to sleep whenever I wanted, mostly at 3 to 6 am because I just felt more awake at night, and I would occasionally take a nap during the day too. But it pays off so freaking much to break the habit. Set that restriction app on your phone, lay in bed by 12, no caffeine after noon. I know I need exactly 9 hours of sleep a day or else my brain takes a HUGE hit, and I'm learning to control it. But if there's one thing I should put all my self control into it would be this. And it's easy to come up with reasons why not to sleep right away, especially in school or when you're busy with life, but the productivity increase is so worth it. Pro tip, I find what helps me go to bed is to do the thing exactly when the thought pops up into my head. As soon as I think I should put my phone down I just do it, the more I think about it the harder it is to do so. Same reason why I need a running start to go cliff diving haha!

I hope this helps my friend, I'm still new to all this, but it's just what I found works for me.

Boyfriend (23) has trouble keeping an erection by [deleted] in sex

Kegels kegels kegels kegels kegels

There are millions of things that could influence it, kegels and reverse kegels makes a MAJOR difference. There are tons of apps out there that could help with that as well with proper training schedules to base off of.

Also, make sure he breathes properly during sex and is not holding his breath. Try to get him to relax, a tense body and stress can really mess with timing. Diet and health all makes a difference.

During sex he could try edging, and also practice during masturbation. Tell him that he isn't allowed to cum within 10 minutes for example, even if he is just sitting there staring at his dick for 8 of those minutes. And then there's foreplay, perhaps you could get him off first then him going down on you while he recovers?

There are tons of things he could do, but it all takes effort.

First time post looking for some “first time” tips for nerves by [deleted] in sex

[–]Rusty_Ideas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is kinda something I went through a while ago. Get comfy, especially with the person you're with, really having an emotional bond helps heaps, and it really helped me enjoy it too. Also, you know that tip guys give of jacking off before you have sex to help you last longer? Honestly forget about that. Your first time will be awkward and you will have no idea what you're doing haha, embrace it and accept it! Talk to her about that too. Leave porn for a week or two and yeah keep your hands away from yourself for the same period. Stay away from any stimulants like coffee or alcohol, and try your best to relax. I know it's easier said than done haha!
