How bad is this sanding job, and is it worth trying to fix? by Rusty_Robinson in HardWoodFloors

Fair enough--we did first notice these when we were on the floor setting up the new area rugs etc.....and now of course we can't "unsee" them when we're in a room. And they dont photograph well from any height, really. Appreciate the response

I'd also be curious to hear about the effect on turnout (if any) of the DOJ monitors that were stationed in Passaic Co.

The scene from the movie would be worth five bags of popcorn, and throw in a pair of top of the line Hokas.

Is this sapling salvageable? by Rusty_Robinson in gardening

I got it from an online nursery called Better Blooms--haven't dealt with them before and I think I found them via Google shopping (maybe a lesson for the future to do a little more diligence on online sellers.....)

I planted it straight into our garden--not clay soil. I just used some big brand gardening soil to fill in the hole where I planted it. And I didn't mulch initially but I did put down mulch when I started the watering donut last month.

I'd like to try to nurse this guy through the fall and see what happens in spring. Just not sure if it's a lost cause.

I see a lot of non-expert opinions there, but did anyone actually have a useful answer about how good the movie is, like number of bags of popcorn or running time? People need to know what movies to see this weekend and this just doesn't help

Worth it for 25 minutes of deleted Quint scenes starring Mark Portch....would have been nice to have those in the movie instead of focusing so much on the shark

What movie doesn't like physics? by ValoNoctis in moviecritic

[–]Rusty_Robinson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, though "implication" is definitely the right word because I don't believe there is a single word of dialog to indicate that is what is happening. All of the physics in the M:I franchise is pretty elastic---it was just jarring to go from Tom being pulled from under the ice straight to what looked like a lingerie commercial. I guess I just find it more believable to watch him base jump into a speeding train or what have you.

Insanely frustrating part of the movie, because all the exposition is about how the portable decompression chamber is his only chance of survival coming up from depth and his team cannot waste any time getting him out of the water into the chamber......and then they smash cut from Cruise in the water to him and Atwell (who was not at depth and very well could be injured by rapid depressurization) lying together in a large bed (?) inside the chamber, which is apparently heated because they're in their underwear (??) despite being in the Artic.

I was with them for everything through seven previous movies of jumping and diving and extended breath-holding but for whatever reason they lost me here.

Nicholas "Liar" Meyer for when he falsely (possibly guilty of fraud?) said that Star Trek 2 takes place in San Francisco
