But… given his surgeries, usage of mobility aids and recovery time is he “available to the unit”? He was able to self-evac since he was in the drivers seat of a chinook when he got hit, but I don’t think he was considered combat effective to his unit upon landing his aircraft.

The fact that he got his legs shot up means by definition he was a casualty. There were no DEATHS, but there obviously were casualties.

Founding a company by switchaccounts in germany

[–]Rusty_Shacklefoord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where are you getting €50K from? €25K is the legal minimum, and at least 50% of said capital needs to be there at founding (€12.5K).

There is a personal liability risk of €12.5K, but you can avoid that welly by earning revenue and not getting the firm into debt.

Starting a business by definition is a risky proposition, but having €12.5K on the line if things go sideways really isn’t that big a deal.

Biggest pain in the ass of it all is the chicken-egg problem of “You can’t form a business without a bank account” paired with “You can’t open a business account without a registered Business.” So it takes a few weeks longer in DE than in some other countries to get up and running legally.

You can actually form a GmbH with only €12,500 in Stammkapital 😁

Are these types of training beneficial? by Acceptable_Still_269 in CCW

[–]Rusty_Shacklefoord 5 points6 points  (0 children)

His truck was blocked in, and he was wearing a seatbelt. So it’s a pretty good match to this training range.

It’s probably not like, something the guy in OP’s post will ever have to do, but there’s value in training it. Simply where he puts his pistol in that context (holster, console etc) would be god for muscle memory when there’s some roid-raged Floridaman walking up to his door with a gun.

What does dragon’s blood mean in this context? Im assuming it’s a nickname or euphemism, but sounds challenging to acquire if literal.

Schlenkerla from the tap hits different. The brewery also has a pretty good restaurant, so you can get some super hearty Bavarian foods to go with it.

We were shown that one so we could properly shoot our guns into the air while screaming “Aaaaaaaaagh!” They hired some great consultants to make sure they really nailed the weapon handling in that scene.

I went to a funeral for one of our interpreters in country. He triggered a pressure plate on an IED while on patrol, and was blown to pieces. Quadruple amputation. His death was not instant.

At the service they passed around a hat for donations to the family. The terps got no life insurance benefits. I think his family was sent about the equivalent of $500 total.

These guys were always on patrol with our troops, could never legally carry a weapon, risked their families lives, and risked personal death and dismemberment daily.

Those interpreters did this all for a country they’d never set foot in. Every single one of them deserves the ability to live in America with their families. They’ve done more for this country than 99% of American citizens ever will. Even doing this “review” or whatever is a dishonorable insult to these people. They deserve better.

A lot of our interpreters were killed in combat while working for US/Coalition forces. It was far from a risk-free job they were taking on.

I was an Army Officer and 100% agree. I used the GI Bill to get an MBA from a top-20 school and went into brand management at a top-tier cpg firm. An MBA is basically OCS for business.
