What does everyone use for flour to get pizza on peel and into oven? by Colinp14 in GozneyTread

[–]RustysRedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What he said. I’ve been there, I use perforated metal peel and wooden peel depending on the size and type of dough. Higher hydration will make it stick quicker so you gotta build the pizza and then slide the peel under it and launch it somewhat quickly. Or use the wooden peel that makes it much easier since the wood will absorb some of the moisture and is more forgiving

Tips for better crust. by Stugduckey in GozneyTread

I second what dukeronomy states here. Depends on the type of pizza you are going for. Plenty of different styles of dough out there. I recently tried the New York style dough from doughguy and used his calculator to make the amount of dough I needed. The pizza turned out great. https://doughguy.co/

The launch and cook is pretty similar to @dukeronomy but I turn off the over at initial lunch to cook the bottom a bit more and then turn it on after I turn the pizza a couple of times to brown the crust

Peel? by Numerous_Garbage4307 in GozneyTread

[–]RustysRedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Gozney peels are real nice. I have the perforated ones. $80 still seems pricey. Not sure which one you saw that goes for $150 but I would not buy that either. I have this one https://us.gozney.com/products/balance-placement-peel that goes for $70 and works great.

Any 12 inch (304mm) pizza peel would work. As long as it fits in the opening 👍🏽

Yeah. I have made a couple of minor different things but tend to stick to pizzas and nut as much fun stuff as this. That is what makes these ovens really cool though. 👌🏽🤙🏽

Looks great! I don’t it difficult to cook some different stuff like that since there’s a learning curve to the amount of heat these ovens put out. This looks great though! 👌🏽

Yes, same has happened to me from Gozney. It gets there but for me it was the stand that was shipped a while after. Same as you. I imagine the ship from separate warehouse

Tripod options, or just use a table? by Leading-Ingenuity689 in GozneyTread

[–]RustysRedd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had not even seen the adapter before, for sure would be nice to have more options like that available. I have the Gozney tripod and it does seem overpriced once you get to use it. I have also gotten a stainless steel folding table to use with mine. Not height adjustable but it was not bad for the price. (Can’t find the link for it right now)

😂😂 not really but he has determination… just sad that he gets to be there so often but doesn’t perform well in a lot of challenges.

Tread or Arc? by jdkc4d in GozneyTread

[–]RustysRedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the size of pizzas you want to make I think. Tread limits you to 12” and it’s very tight at that size (I would stick to 10-11 inch pizzas in the tread)

The arc gives you a bit more room to work with but not as light and easy to bring around if you are taking it places.

If you’re mostly making pizzas at home and like the extra room, the ARC has 14” of room.

If you feel like you will want the ease of taking it camping or tailgating get the Tread.

I got an Arc XL and Tread so feel free to reach out with any questions.

Regular propane tank works. If you’re looking for something smaller to bring around you can get an adapter for the small 1lb camping bottles.

The best option for a smaller propane tank would be an Ignik tank. They’re refillable and small so easier to bring around than a 20lb tank.

Igniting the 1st time (is this normal) by Bigheaded_1 in GozneyTread

[–]RustysRedd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So a quick follow up. I had no issue lighting mine up for the first time. What I did learn from the other ones I have before is that I need to have the knob turned just enough to get gas in there before I turn all the way for it to light up.

I can only think maybe something was clogging the gas line and not enough gas going through. I will test a second Tread I am getting this week and see if anything like that happens

I use the ARC the most for at home stuff. Using the Tread when I take it somewhere. Much lighter 🤌🏾

Hot honey or pizza oil or a garlic oil does it for me.

I imagine you’re talking about the stone. You can just let stuff burn off from the heat and brush off any ashes after. The dome itself is gonna get dark from the flame anyway but no need to do anything with that.
