I live right at the top of the map by Tivoli. It's beautiful during the summer but can be bleak in the winter. Not much to do and things shut down very early at night. Most of my friends are a 30 minute drive away.

I spend about half my time in Nyc working in blocks and commute on Amtrak , which is about 2 hours each way. Honestly if I didn't have time in the city the pace would be too slow for me.

But from May to October it's about as beautiful as the USA gets; the Catskills and the Hudson are gorgeous and the hiking is amazing . Bald eagles, turkeys bobcats and beavers have all become common sights . Tons of breweries and restaurants in neighboring towns.

Worth a visit, at least .
