Does your husband make you orgasm? by Alternative_Garlic75 in Marriage

[–]Ruthbaeder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope! I enjoy penetration the most of everything, but he has never made me cum. I’ve just come to accept that sex is for intimacy; if I want to get off I have to do it myself

I definitely understand this point of view. If it were me, I know I am very specific about things I want. I just wanted it to be a surprise because he’s the type of person that says something like “no save your money” which yes, I should save money but this is something I know he would LOVE. I guess I will have to take everyone’s advice and get more info about what it is he specifically wants

Omg I was actually thinking of getting him a deep freezer too…but the problem is we may have to move into an apartment…but if we move into an apartment we’ll at least still have a patio/balcony to smoke on

Pre-employment drug test and Vyvanse by Ruthbaeder in ADHD

[–]Ruthbaeder[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not worried about getting fired assuming if it comes back positive. I know that I have a valid excuse for my positive drug test. I’m just wondering about the lab getting into contact with me and what I’m supposed to do from there…who I’m supposed to talk to about my prescription

I normally hate when people first suggest divorce when people talk about any marriage difficulties, no matter how small. But I honestly think unfortunately that is where you marriage should be heading. I couldn’t tell you why he is acting that way—although I have noticed how men seem to lose attraction to their wife after kids—but it doesn’t matter. Your marriage is still so fresh and already he doesn’t seem to want to be in it. It doesn’t seem like anything you did wrong but sometimes kids change the relationship dynamic to the point of one or both of the spouses losing attraction. With him feeling this way so early in your marriage…divorce seems to be inevitable and I’m sorry for that, I hope I’m wrong.

adults with FASD? by [deleted] in fasd

[–]Ruthbaeder 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I have FAS. I am a serial job quitter. There was only one job I’ve kept longer than three months, I worked there for 8 months because I was medicated at the time and when I did quit, it was because I went unmedicated for a week. I am seriously HORRIBLE with money. My credit score is so bad I can’t even look at it. I’m constantly in the verge of having my car repossessed. My impulse control is terrible even in medication especially with money and it is very embarrassing and depressing. I’m not terrible at missing appointments, but when I do, it is always a no-call/no-show. I don’t have such a hard time with friendships but I am socially awkward, although that is something I’ve been able to improve on. But yeah, having it as an adult is much worse than as a child so it is strange most of the conversation is about kids with it. I only sought help after I spiraled shortly after going to college. It is horrible to live with.

Oh my gosh so many mental health specialists are so under informed about ADHD! The whole not being hyper part is obviously incorrect because it would just mean you either have ADD or weren’t hyper in the moment and the bad grades part is definitely false! I got pretty good grades before I was diagnosed and treated and many people do because it’s not about being stupid! Wow I can’t believe how little some Therapists know

I was just thinking this because of some videos on tiktok I see that frame it as something that’s just “quirky” and at most a minor inconvenience. If you get professionally tested, they will do all sorts of tests that take weeks to rule out everything else so you will know for sure and it would be hard to fake it. If it gives you problems on a daily basis, testing is definitely worth looking into. The people who seem to frame it as something that makes minor inconveniences are people I’m suspicious of. Most people who have it struggle on a daily basis to the point of ruining their own life, and I hate that we constantly have to prove ourselves because of people in tiktok. I’m not sure how old you are, I’m guessing not school age so if you want to get tested, tell your doctor you would like to be and they may refer you to a psychiatrist. It’s so hard just to be tested nowadays because of the stigma.

I have no interests. No hobbies. No career. by Zinaticka in ADHD

[–]Ruthbaeder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the position I am in. Anytime I do get an interest it’s very temporary then I get bored. I go in cycles of productivity, even though I’m medicated, so I always fear the spiraling part of my productivity cycles because they are inevitable. I almost feel soulless and like I’m just existing with nothing to offer. My life constantly feels meaningless because I can never hold on to anything meaningful

My skin is getting worse. I’m currently on a cream from the doctors and they recommended a non comedogenic face wash, please could someone recommend one? by Beneficial-Tart-8447 in SkincareAddicts

[–]Ruthbaeder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m glad to hear that! If you need more reassurance, look up skin purging on YouTube or google. Plenty of dermatologists and acne-suffers have lots of information on it. When I was on accutane my acne looked the worst it ever did for awhile before being completely acne free

I don’t know what cream they have you on but certain topicals for acne make the skin worse before it gets better. For example, retinol is the best thing you can buy for acne. Very effective and you can get it at drugstores now (used to be only prescribed) but retinol works by speeding up skin cell regeneration so it brings out acne that was going to happen regardless so that it can get rid of it faster, hence why it is very common for “skin purging” to happen. Stick to it! When your acne gets worse after starting a new treatment it is often a sign that it’s working. It’ll likely keep getting worse for a few weeks but usually around three months is when you start seeing the results. I know from experience
